Three people at the Brewers’ alternate training site, including a pair of players, have tested positive for COVID-19, reports Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic (Twitter link). Everyone else who was at the site is in quarantine while being tested daily, Rosenthal adds.
These test results are not expected to impact the major league team, GM David Stearns confirmed (via Adam McCalvy of MLB.com). They will continue to play on as scheduled. Of course, having a large chunk of the club’s potential depth options quarantining for at least the next few days is suboptimal. Milwaukee sits at 24-26, one game back of the division-rival Reds for the final playoff spot in the National League (with the 25-26 Giants also ahead of them).

Wait.
I thought this “farce of a season” was going to be “shutdown in a couple weeks at best”.
Fellas?
It would appear that personal responsibility & resourcefulness *still* works.
Huh.
Hoping we all (some more than others) make note of this.

Wait – I always heard vision was 20/20 in hindsight.

Lol
& you’d brook no argument with me on that, sir. 🙂
However, there was a number of us that believed we’d get through this season. I was just mostly wondering were all the Chicken Little’s were.
Looks like I caught one.

Backup Catcher to the Backup Catcher
Well, I guess that means no promotions this week from the ATS . Just as well. Brewers got it going now. Stay with what we have and we’ll make the playoffs. Old man Braun hitting over .400 the past two weeks with his usual pop.
Would be nice, actually super nice, if both Hiura and Yelich finish with a bang. Hard to believe both these guys are batting in the low .200s.
Bold Prediction Dept.: Brewers make the playoffs and get all the way to the NLCS vs. the Padres. Brew Crew win in seven and then it’s off to the WS vs. the White Sox. You guys fill in the blanks from there.

As unlikely as your bold prediction is…that would be awesome if it were to actually happen! If Yelich and Braun keep hitting like they have lately and is Hiura somehow remembers that striking out isn’t the goal of an at bat (what the **** is going on there?), the Brewers could really be a force. Corbin Burnes has been freakin incredible and nobody is going to touch that bullpen. They’ve got about 5-6 guys pumping 96-99 mph gas and a couple that are absolutely dominant. Is there anyone better than Devin Williams this year? The guy has given up 1 run all season and is averaging over 18k/9!
It’d be cool to see the White Sox in the World Series as well….what an amazing turnaround in one season and my god what a collection of incredible young talent. Hope your prediction comes true, Lou!
