Regarding the question about whether players who have opted out can change their minds: Those guys are being placed on the restricted list, and if they did decide to play they could be activated just like they would off the IL. Of course, someone else would have to be removed from the 60-man (and possibly the 40-man) to make room.

If the Indians change their name to Buckeyes I will vomit and never buy any merchandise from them. Pick a name that is unique to Cleveland. Don’t copy the name from that college team downstate.

honestly i feel the same way about all names from the early 20th century and before, regardless of the league. they all seem a bit archaic now. i dont think picking a name like Spiders or Buckeyes is nessicary when you have an infinate number of opportunities out there, including many with alliteration.
