Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux is back in action at Summer Camp, MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick was among those to report on Twitter. He’ll jump right into an intrasquad game this evening.
Lux’s status was never clear, though his absence obviously spoke to the fact that he may not be ready for the start of the season. We still don’t know why he was away. If the time away related to the coronavirus, then Lux must have tested negative twice in order to be admitted.
This is good news for Lux’s health and the Dodgers’ competitive position. The 22-year-old held his own in the majors last year after dominating upper minors pitching. He’s expected to play a key role in the team’s middle infield mix in 2020.
Go Dodgers! Go Lux!
.
Dodgers should be interesting this year. Dynamic offense and plenty of pitching but the losses of Ryu, Maeda, Price and Nelson has to weaken their pitching staff a bit. They still have enough to win it all, but another injury or two and things will get interesting in the West with Arizona and SD looking much stronger.
Who’s Nelson?
Jimmy Nelson
I thought they added Jimmy Nelson this offseason. What happened to him?
Back surgery. There was an article 4 days ago if you want to check it out!
Hey sesquiup: Rockefeller—he’s in the Dodger ownership group.
He’s not really a Dodger. He will never play a game for them.
The starting staff still has Kershaw, Buehler, Urias, Stripling, May, Gonsolin and Wood. The depth they have is insane. Ryu was fantastic for us, but I would rather have Stripling, Gonsolin and May over Maeda, Price and Nelson.
No one should of expected Nelson to contribute anything to the MLB roster. Until he can stay healthy and resemble anything of his former self(spoiler alert, he won’t).
Dodgers probably make a trade before the deadline
Hey Fanoo: Make another one with the Red Sox.
I’m not a Dodgers fan but I have to admit I think Gavin Lux is going to be a really good ML player. His numbers in the minors are very impressive and he seems to have all the tools to be a potential star in the majors.
You’re not alone—nobody in LA is a Dodger fan. Lux might be fine but the Dodgers should have spent their money on the Deluxe model.
Oh look the person who can’t even do basic math for the whole point of the their username is back. You’re comments are getting very weird. Ha you sure showed the Dodgers for drafting Lux! Next time they will think twice before making the best 1st round pick of that draft!
I think this guy will be a superstar too.
He seems to have such a great temperament.
I loved Verdugo too.
Such a shame to lose him.
That guy will be something special too.
And the looks of a movie star LA will love him.
“I think”, “he seems”, “potential”—a perfect description of tens of thousands of minor league prospects before him. Nothing special here.
If Lux was out due to Covid, glad he’s back! Even tho he plays on my team’s archrival, I’m not at all anti-Dodgers per se. This kid will be exciting to watch play for years to come
Yeah, most likely in the minor leagues or local beer softball leagues. A cup of coffee in the bigs has already been checked off.
He was the#2 prospect in all of baseball When he debuted. So that means nothing?
Yet, the padres are magically going to overtake LA…because of their prospects who are ranked lower? That logic makes you look like an idiot….
Pretty simple here. He was away because the Dodgers had kept him off the roster. No illness or issue, just a roster thing. Why? Only the Dodgers know, it he was not happy with their original decision, I do know that.
Sounds like you know nothing. Back to making widgets for you.
He’s the starting 2B this year so no
I’m still bummed Price decided not to be a Dodger. He should be traded in the offseason.
