will the Mariners ever get back to the world series in the next 10 years?
jorge78
I thought they have never been there before…..
dynamite drop in monty
I think he means the time Jay Buhner and Joey Cora went to the World Series and sat in the bleachers.
jeterleader
who will the Mariners pick tomorrow?
thebaseballfanatic
Nick Gonzales, Emerson Hancock, or Max Meyer, most likely.
Phanatic 2022
I like Gonzales
jeterleader
I like Gonzalez and Hancock but of course, being a Seattle team, will completely blow this pick.
Strike Four
If the season ends up being less than 60 games that means literally anyone could make the playoffs, there’s been so many teams dominate in the first half then fade into obscurity, so a hot month could mean playoffs, this is a joke, right?
Just have another 1994 already, most of us already know how that feels.

Wow another 56 minute chat. Thanks for your time Steve!

That’s 56 more minutes than you deserve, heel.

I appreciate a chat of any length, although it does seem that this is not Steve’s favorite part of his job. Mark makes up for it with his 1.5-2 hour chats though lol

“That entire March agreement is a disaster, and both sides deserve some ridicule for putting together such an obviously vague document and then waiting months to seriously begin swapping proposals. It’s a joke.”

The pandemic could not have been more ill timed for MLB as an industry. Not sure how they safely (players physical health + Covid risks) ramp up to game speed + get in 80 games and a playoffs unless there’s a TON of neutral site domed baseball into Thanksgiving. What injury risk do these players especially pitchers face when they return to spring in 2021?
So at this juncture the only reason to play is put some $ in players pockets I presume MLB loses less money vs not playing at all with the caveat they avoid their worst nightmare, a shut down cancelling playoffs.
The season is already messed up so get creative, inventive, do a FIFA styled World Cup tournament with a 50 game regular season to set groups/rankings. Then send teams to 6 locations (SF Bay, Chicago, NY, DC, LA and Chicago) all have 2 MLB stadiums and each host a group of 5 teams, playing 2 games against one another. It will take 10 days to complete each team having a 2 days off during that time. 3pts for a win, 2pts for a win in extra innings, 1pt for a loss in extras. you could even put in silly extra inning rules, start with bases loaded etc.. Top 16 move on to 4 groups of 4 to 4 new locations. Everyone plays each other 2 times (6 games) over a week at a single location requires day – night doubleheader and well you know the rest.
Now while that all sounds fun anyone on an incentive based contract isn’t smiling, oh well pandemic sucks why should you be special 😉 I wonder what the National broadcast partners would think.
