Truth Matters. Albert Pujols is awful, but he’s not a bad defensive first baseman. Last year he was 1 out above average. He ranked 15th out of 40th.
He was basically referring to the fact that Pujols can’t realistically play any position at this point other than 1B (and DH), which positionally is the easiest to play.
Well most first baseman can only play first base.
Pujols is a bad player, he shouldn’t be in the major leagues, but he’s not a bad defensive firstbaseman. It’s pretty much the only thing he can still do.
