I agree with you on JTR. I’m think a 5 or 6 year deal at $26 MM per. The Phils take Arrieta’s, Segura’s and Robertson’s salaries off the ledgers at the end of the season.

Marlins should consider Brian Anderson. While he’s not a superstar or franchise type, he’s a solid, cornerstone type of player. He could be to us what guys like Jeff Conine and Mike Lowell were – very solid, borderline All Star.
Also, another solid year of Alcantara, you have to consider him too.
I’ll wait until after this year on Alfaro. Along with performance with his bat, I’d like to see more defensive athleticism and improvement to go with his great arm. He does that, I’m sold for a solid backstop.

Do agree with Brian Anderson…. seems like a good opportunity to make it happen more than anything. He’ll never be a superstar though but a really good player. Already is

Yeah, he’s the type of guy we can keep long term, who is good enough to be a stabilizer on a very good team.
For the foreseen future, we won’t be able to keep guys like Stanton, Miggy Cabrera, the Brewers version of Yelich, Gary Sheffield for long term due to their salaries, but guys like Anderson, like a different ownership could’ve had Jeff Conine and Mike Lowell, is the type of player we can afford to keep long term and have sustained success.
