Two of the most exciting players in baseball
Love the facetious mid-30s Byrd’s reference! Never been a huge fan of 60s folk rock but the doc on NF definitely provided an avenue for more appreciation.
Err pardon me Simon & Garfunkel.
Meanwhile, Brandon Morrow in talks to get his parking space at Wrigley Field extended for the summer months at a reasonable rate. Reports indicate the two sides are far apart in negotiations. More at 11.
No need to. Handicapped parking is available for him all year round. Oh wait, didn’t the Ricketts remove all handicapped accessible amenities in order to maximize profits?
Did the White Sox remove Marcus Semien’s spot several years ago?
And it cost them a bundle according to media reports so Daddy Warbucks said
no extra money for payroll…..
Yankees should have gone after Yelich instead of a Stanton. He’s younger and better and doesn’t have the injury history. He was also cheaper in terms of trade capital as well as dollars. To top it all off he is better defensively, and is the LH bat they need. Cashman doesn’t make to many mistakes, but he made a doozy this time. Ranks right up there with the 2nd A- Rod contract.
At the time Yelich has only just started to breakout. Stanton was the more established player. Wouldn’t really call it a mistake.
All aboard the 20/20 Train, with a one way ticket to HindsightVille.
Many predicted Yelich to break out in Milwaukee but not to this extent. Cashman loves home runs. Defensive fit or ability, speed, contact and such, not so much. He saw what Stanton had done, not what Yelich might do, and that he was a better fit defensively and a much needed LH bat. Cashman has made a ton of mistakes. He’s hidden some because he can buy his way out of it in the short term. His June draft history is quite appalling over the past two decades.
I wanted the Giants to go after Yelich hands down over Stanton. They ended up with neither…. which is better than ending up with Stanton.
I don’t think he wanted A rod. That was an ownership move. Stanton is all in him though. Cashman never gives up great players and finds good ones on the cheap. But his free agency moves have been spotty, I know Stanton want a free agent but essentially they bought him.
Cheaper in trade capital? The guys Milwaukee gave up were well regarded at the time, even if they haven’t busted out.
The guys the Yankees gave were, and are, not much. It was all about dollars.
Yelich is an absolute stud. I hate to see him with the Brewers for years to come. Brew Crew were smart to lock this guy up he’s a beast
Jeff Todd is a complete idiot and his terrible columns ruin this site.
Could you please provide supporting detail ?
Why do you say that? Did he turn down your advances at the bar last night?
One more thing….People that use the term ‘complete idiot’ to describe a person of intellect and class have not done elevated their own status. In fact, one could say that the name caller is, well, a bit ‘challenged’.
@Northeasternskier
And yet you keep reading (or, in this case, watching) his articles.
@Northeasternskier You’re a disgrace for saying that.
Ugh….*-done

Since they are spending so much money they need to send the Brockstar back to Boston where he belongs with the fans who adore him on n off the field. They will save money if they do that!
