Game 1 of the 2020 World Series between the Dodgers and the Yankees is scheduled to start tonight in LA.
In other news, the Mookie Betts trade has hit another snag.
peterdipersio06
Yes game 1 of the 2020 World Series does start tonight between the draft dodgers and the yank me’s!
looiebelongsinthehall
Will Mookie be in the lineup?
Reo6789
How can u assume dodgers and Yankees just cause their favorites doesn’t mean it’s lock anything can happen baseball is so unpredictable that’s wat makes it fun to watch
wordonthestreet
Neither of those teams even won the pennant last year even with 103 and 106 wins so if jt was starting tonight we would have no idea who would be in it
DrDan75
I have no idea who is going to be there. I was just trying to make a joke about how long this trade is taking to finalize.
Pirates vs. Royals. Who knows?
ben4ben
I heard a rumor that price failed his physical?

Link or GTFO.
AngelDiceClay
You rumor hit a snag. It’s a minor league player in question.
TeddyBallgameYazJimEd
The Twins Gratreol has some issues… he has gone through Tommy John surgery and the Red Sox have some concerns.
Fuck Me Bitch
as if that weren’t know before.
fenwaystrig
they took “Beer and Chicken” Beckett, Price is never an issue with the Dodgers
Pax vobiscum
The dude stemmed the tide against Cleveland in the ALCS and pitched them to an unexpected title in 2007.
its_happening
Boston Red Sox weren’t expected to win in 2007. That’s news to, well, everyone. Considering they had a tie for the best record in the AL and lead the AL East for two-thirds of the 2006 until a ton of injuries hit them at the same time.
Unexpected title? Far from it with those rosters.
MafiaBass
That’s “chicken and beer” to you
RockLowDown
I’ve been watching baseball for 50 years , I’ve never seen a trade fall through . This trade will happen
butch779988
Not a trade but Joe Rudi and Rollie Fingers sale to the Red Sox was blocked by the commissioner.
looiebelongsinthehall
Along with Vida Blue to the Yankees. Such was when free agency was just starting. Rather than lose them for nothing, Charlie O. Valued money over players and tried to sell the two to Boston for $1m each and Blue to New York for $1.5m. Kuhn used the “best interests of baseball” clause and returned the three to Oakland.
DrDan75
Fingers wound up signing in San Diego and wasted some of his prime years there. The Padres sucked in those days too.
GareBear
Zach Wheeler to the Brewers? Or how about the post-trade falling apart of Andrew Cashner to the Marlins? It does happen my friend. Although, I do expect this to still go through.
DarkSide830
many fall appart that we dont know of. in earlier years you probably wolnt have heard of this trade until it was official.
DrDan75
You have to figure that there’s always one side that wants to trade more than the other side does. If the side that wants to trade can’t sell the idea to the other side, it won’t happen.
AngelDiceClay
The Fritz Peterson/Mike Kekich trade got off err I mean went thru without a hitch.
Javia
How about the Padres-Marlins trade from a few years back? Colin Rea’s injury caused him to go back to the Padres. All it cost them was LUIS CASTILLO going back to the Marlins.
Astros44
Or what about when Carlos Gomez was traded to the Mets but then fell apart? The Astros followed that up by making their biggest mistake in franchise history… trading Josh hader, Domingo Santana and Brett Philip’s for Carlos “the schizophrenic” Gomez and Mike “the rat” Fiers. A trade that will live in infamy.
nick effing punto
Haha. A man has integrity and he is a rat. Good for you Houston “no integrity” Astro fans. BANG BANG!
breckdog
First one that comes to mind is ryan dempster to the braves. The braves were under the impression that dempster had agreed to waive his 10-5 rights but once the dodgers expressed intreest it killed the trade as dempster want to go LA and the braves got used as trade leverage from that point on.
pasha2k
As long as the players are not faulty, it should be fine. DD pulled off a trade a couple yrs ago for Pom Pom n he was hurt, n never pitched well his whole time in Boston. DD had no idea he was hurt when he traded with the Padres for him, so found out.
looiebelongsinthehall
That was different Pashka as the trade deadline had passed and DD’s only option was to rescind the trade. Had he done so, he couldn’t have tried to make another move.
AL34
Bloom realized that he was fleeced in this trade for an injured outfielder (back and shoulder) and a guy who had Tommy John Surgery and has had shoulder problems the last two months of the season. They have already designated the pitcher to a relief pitcher. They basically gave an MVP player and a number 2 pitcher for sub players. The Dodgers did not even give up their top echelon talent in this deal!
AngelDiceClay
You’re not fleeced if the trade hasn’t gone thru.
AL34
We’re about to be if it does! LOL Believe me Yankee Fans are laughing their rear ends off and breathing a sigh of relief Betts is gone!
looiebelongsinthehall
Injuries are an obvious concern but give Bloom some credit as most of his under the radar moves in Tampa worked out just fine.

Meanwhile, Jon Lester is still chugging along for the Cubs.
Letting him walk and then signing Price as a consolation prize was never my idea of a good decision. You can bet Lester would not be a salary dump packaged with Mookie. This fiasco lies at Cherington’s feet as much as anyone.
AL34
100% correct but it had more to do with John Henry’s “Hatchet Man” Larry Luchinno who “Low Balled” him on that 70 million dollar for 4 years. Then they lowballed him again while negotiating with him. Cherrington was nothing but Larry Luchinno’s Coffee ☕️ Boy
looiebelongsinthehall
I admit I was wrong on Lester as when negotiations were taking place, I thought he priced himself right out of Boston. He obviously did but landed “just fine”. That said, doesn’t the 2018 championship take some of the sting out of the Lester decision so many years later? Would he have helped the team to two championships? Trading him, Lackey and Miller helped mold that team with Porcello, ERod and yes Joe Kelly being so valuable in October (in addition to Price).
Softball Mike
Why wouldn’t the Red Sox just pass up the middleman (Twins) and take Maeda directly. There’s the starter they need.
chesteraarthur

SG
You are 100% right. This guy is dirt cheap even with incentives.
I agree.
Maeda for Price. Verdugo for Betts.
And eliminate Minnesota from the deal.

revindabiga
Interesting, 40 years living in Orange County, CA, I was pretty sure that the Big A was South of Chavez Ravine… Who knew!!!
WeaverFan420
Darnn it you beat me to it!
Fuck Me Bitch
Why didn’t the Red Sox extend due diligence on Graterol before the trade?
It seems fishy that they would announce, at this later than late hour, that they have fuond health concerns about him.
twinky
Dead in the water
Rich Hill’s Elbow
Dodgers should kick the Twins from the deal and offer Gonsolin and Ferguson.
AL34
Verdugo was involved in a sexual assault when he was with the Dodgers. Didn’t Bloom check these guys out before he traded an MVP for ?
