Bring back the downvote. Even McDonalds brings back the McRibs.
What was Moreno thinking? He has ticked off a huge percentage of Angel fans. If Eppler leaves what quality GM would want the A girl job with Arte making his horrible player moves.
I agree that Billy has done a great job and Arte is the problem. That being said, nearly anyone would want a chance to guide the Angels franchise. Arte just needs to get out of his own way and not demand things…I’m looking at the Hamilton signing.
Exactly , they could of had Greinke & Hunter over Hamilton
Do the Yankees have any trade bait that would make sense to get Bryant from the Cubs?
Gleyber Torres
Lol Yankees aren’t trading Torres. Ever. Get over it
Now way on Torres, but a package of andujar and Devi Garcia could be a good return
is cubs goin too trade there sluger? he has good bat and good gluv so i hate for him to bee tradid. i hurd from insidur that he beeing tradid to cardinuls lord i hope not he has good bat and good gluv n i hate for him to bee tradid to cards?

holy crap!!
Hello Chubby,
I’m guessing you are referring to Bryant and chatting in your 2nd or 3rd language. – personally I don’t see the Cubs trading with the two years of control confirmed. They might be wise to at least listen to offers, but logically they can’t gain enough mlb ready talent unless it’s something like a trippy Arenado swap.
thank u asfanin steve hant respondid to me. i glad he not goin to cards now i can ress peecfuly tonignt
hay gang how do i make shure steve gets my qyestun? i clik here n i done see my qyestuin anyweres.
we’re you in the chat? if you asked your question here, you aren’t in the chat. and most questions don’t get answered anyways.
How can any Dodger fan think that one year of Pederson (a platoon outfielder) and Stripling is fair for three years of stud pitcher like Clevinger? They can’t honestly be serious.
Dodgers need a starter?
Plutko to the Dodgers for May and Lux seems fair.
Well done, Samuel!!!
As a Cardinals fan I highly doubt the Cubs trade him to their main divisional rival. I could envision him being traded to Atlanta,Texas or Philadelphia but not St.Louis.
You know, last trade deadline the Rangers said they were in talks with the Yankees about trading Mike Minor. The deal would revolve around the idea that the rangers get Deivi Garcia for Mike Minor. Should the Rangers have done that?
Regarding the new playoff structure-
Its beyond a desperate move and will put another hole in the ship for our National Pastime, I dont know how much more water this sport can take on now-
Heres a novel idea…want to prevent tanking….put in a God d****n salary floor…… Teams cry that they are unable to meet the floor well guess what…..Welcome to Portland then…. we will help you load up the buses !!
We are entering Code Red here shortly, so sad, the integrity of the game is in a very fragile state
It’s a great proposal.
Read Joel Sherman in the NY Post today. He’s miles ahead of the kids here who view everything about MLB via spreadsheets..
If enacted it would truly flip contract values upside down-
A true TOR guy is going to be worth so so so much more in this format-
A really good everyday player like Rendon probably takes a pretty big hit considering he might only get 6 at bats when it matters even though he contributed mightily to a 100 win team that season-
A team like the Angels who went Rendon over Stras this year would probably be pissed to see this come into affect so quickly-
Any top 3 pitcher in a playoff series (say top 40-50 Sps in the game) will suck up all the money from position players/ bottom rotation guys –
This structure would create a huge huge shift in free agency, one that I dont think is really fair when talking about worth over 162 games and then it comes down to 2 or 3 in the end – Rendon puts the butts in the seats April- September the Stras makes all the money b/c of 1 start in the playoffs
@ JD Candello;
I’d suggest you read the article.
The points you make have nothing to do with anything.
Example – he notes that the A’s won 97 games, yet were eliminated in a one game playoff taking 3 hours and 12 minutes. Any team can have a bad game. They deserve better. That made no sense for a team and FO that busted their butts for over 6 months, not to mention the fans that followed the team and supported them., .
I have 🙂 ….. its a foxhole with an obv one sided narrative/tone. Im just here to shed rationale to the situation as a whole-
Power of the cherry pick with those A’s- There would be countless of worse situations with this new format where 100 win teams like the Twins and Yankees last year have to put it all on the line with teams that play .510.-525 ball in the reg season — But yea those poor A;s …….
The points I make are an expansion on how bad this Already is as an idea – There are plenty more that are much more obv but I wanted to shine a light on this one at the current time
No, salaries will stay about the same as they are now. Top hitters will always get paid.
You are an idiot.
A salary floor of 80 million is needed, if the Pirates can ride along with 48 than now they HAVE to go trade for a few better pieces or sign Kevin Pillar to a 1 year 32 million dollar deal.
Another mindless chat
You keep saying that. Maybe you should skip it from now on.
What if we make revenue sharing receipt proportional to payroll expense.
Say a modification that you can only receive revenue sharing funds in an amount no greater than 40% of existing current player salaries (prevents running up or trading for huge deferred salary amounts) but meanwhile you leave the entire rest of the current distribution regime intact.
Any unclaimed revenue sharing funds could either a) revert to payors under the same formula As money will be going back, or, b) gets redistributed among other recipients subject to the 40% limit.
Then there’s no true floor, but, let’s be honest – the egregious payroll teams are pretty much all recipients anyways.
Why not just make it easier and have a floor?
Basketball has shown with the right rev sharing it can EASILY EASILY support pretty much any city in America and even Canada and everybody still makes hand over fist-
It wouldn’t be obtainable to get there in very short order, do we have the leadership for that, probably not……..fade to John Lennon “Imagine”
The floor in the NBA has just shown that it makes garbage players overpaid, it hasn’t helped much at all with competitiveness.
Put any unpaid rev sharing into a fund for the players, maybe toward the pension fund or just flat out distributed directly to the players.
Robles and mason denaburg for Kris Bryant who says no
Robles and will Crowe for Kris Bryant who says no
Expand the playoff by one team in each league. Division winners still pick their opponents but no wildcard.
And then expand the league by one team in each division. That keeps the playoffs relatively scarce.
Salary floor hasn’t helped competitiveness in the NBA so not sure that’s the answer for MLB.
Boston was right to trade Betts. Why lose him for free?
