The latest minor moves from around baseball….
- The Astros have outrighted right-hander Dean Deetz to Triple-A, the club announced. Deetz cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week. Over six seasons in Houston’s farm system, Deetz has some solid numbers overall but has struggled at the Triple-A level, with a 4.94 ERA and an unsightly 7.6 BB/9 over 113 innings. Deetz has 3 1/3 innings of Major League experience, coming over four games with the Astros in September 2018.

MLB should make every member of the 2017 Astros and 2018 Red Sox a free agent and neither team are allowed to sign any of them back or acquire them for 5 years. Salt the earth of these corrupted franchises. Make them start from scratch and just play minor leaguers and whoevers left in FA next year. Yankees starting to smell a bit too….

I don’t think Altuve should be able to bring his A/V Club skills to other teams.

Imagine a scenario where MLB found an abundance of cheating among all or most clubs. You can’t suspend them all, you gotta make money. You can’t suspend none, it’ll only get worse. Maybe the best solution in this scenario is to publicly flog the team most prominently linked in the news to serve as a warning to other teams. It has to be serious, but you can’t completely cripple just one team, not with this widespread problem. Best to throw down severe penalties, serious enough to deter future cheating, but not so serious that this one team bears the entirety of the blame. Sure it may seem light to some, but it’s the best you can do on this scenario. Wouldn’t that be weird?

Dizzy Dean Deetz was the guy who got his teammate Reymin Guduan so riled up that Guduan came after Deetz with a baseball bat, leading to some major internal discipline. Odd thing was, Guduan had just struck out the side and Deetz laughed about how Guduan seemingly could never throw strikes… maybe sarcasm that didn’t translate well, I dunno.

Cheating by the Umpires! The CBA gets done and we just keep the same SOB’s behind the plate. I can’t think of any better Franchises for this to be done too than the The New York sucking Yankees and the I am a Hollywood bikini licking L.A Dodgers. I still can’t stop laughing about this. Sic’em Stros and Sox!!!! Woo-Hooo
