Just read on twitter that the Braves have offered Josh Donaldson a 4 or 5 year deal worth somewhere between $112 million and $125 million. S Phillips and Bowden reported it.
That’s not was Bowden reported. The 112 figure comes from his guess on the athletic article. Buying into anything Phillips and Bowden report anyways is well….
Yeah. I’m starting to figure that out. The guy that reported it on twitter is someone named @Myothatwitta. I got a notification about it on my phone even though I wasn’t following him at the time. That combined with the name dropping and exact dollar/term length amounts made me think it might be accurate. He actually said that the offer was made and not theorized. I’m starting to think he is full of it. He said the statements were made on MLB Network Radio or something. I can’t find content but it seems like you know at least what he’s referring to. Do you have a link or somewhere I can look at the video so I can at least figure out which conversation he is talking about? I would really appreciate it.
Bowden wrote an Athletic article yesterday. It was called: The top 30 free agents still available and where they might land. He theorized Donaldson May get 28*4=112M. And he theorized the Braves as one of the best fits.
Gotcha… and then this guy on twitter read or heard that somewhere and reported that Bowdennand Phillips both stated that the Braves had already officially made the offer. Man… That guy must’ve really wanted attention.

If the Braves put that in front of him there’d already be a post up “Donaldson resigns with Braves” I wouldn’t dig too hard too see if that one was legit or not.

I think it was untrue. The guy that tweeted it can’t seem to back up his statements with any real evidence. I have heard there was and MLB Network conversation where Jim Bowden and Steve Phillips kicked around those numbers and term years for Donaldson signing with the Braves but this guy @Myothatwitta claimed they said very specifically that the Braves had already officially made an offer like that to JD and I think he is embellishing. I’m still looking for the video because I want to at least see the evidence that gave him that impression but I strongly doubt it is 100% accurate at this point. Sorry guys. I think I may have just posted some BS but I genuinely believed it may have been true at the time. If anyone can find a link to the MLB Network conversation between Jim Bowden and Steve Phillips about this, please let us know. I do at least want to put in the due diligence of looking into before I call the guy a complete liar.
I can appreciate that SUG. I don’t know if you’re a Braves fan but I think if you are, any of us would probably jump to soon at the first tweet about JD signing with the Braves.

I believe Suarez was a shortstop in the Detroit organization before the reds traded for him. How bout put Moose at 3rd move Suarez to shortstop bring Senzel into 2nd base. Akimura plays center and go out and sign osuna to play right field. You still have winker and Ervin in left and Aquino can spell akimura and osuna
About the recent Donaldson rumors and the Braves offering a fourth year. All I’m finding so far are reports from fan sites such as tomahawktake and Fansided:

The one note I would make about the fan site tomahawktake site is that they have two really good writers, Fireboss and Alan Carpenter and its Carpenter who wrote this very recent piece so this makes me feel a LITTLE more confident about it but it’s still a fan writer.
The Athletic published a piece within the last couple hours and part of it’s headline is predicting Donaldson to land in Atlanta. Is that timing coincidental? Because The Athletic is more credible but I can’t read the article so I’m not going to read to much into a headline.

Not a problem! I got a laugh out of it.
Sure it can not be true, Tigers are thinking of moving three rows of seats outside the stadium for fans who want to be able to leave the game early or stay just a few innings. Have to sign an agreement to buy $20 worth of refreshments in addition to seat. Tigers upset over fans not buying enough beer or hot dogs last year.
Will they be able to see the game? What stops the people with seats inside the stadium from leaving early?
