I posted a comment earlier to Jeff about an interview I saw with Liberty Media exec Greg Maffei on CNBC. I hope he saw the interview. He talks about the Braves payroll as having “the flexibility to outspend the Mets.” Or something like that. Just a paraphrase. It was a financial interview on MSNBC about all things Liberty Media from Sirius XM satellite radio to F1 racing. It happened 2 days ago after the Braves signed Chris Martin and he even references Will Smith in the interview. I am curios to know if Jeff watched it and thinks it may imply the Braves are going to spend more money then we thought. Maffei even brings up how much cap space the Braves have as a driving factor in what they may be able to spend. I think that’s a big deal because the Braves have never approached the cap and I can’t think of a reason why an ownership group would even care about that if they weren’t at least considering getting closer to it. Especially after paying Flowers and Markakis a combined $4 million early just to save cap room. Let me know what you think Jeff! Please! It was on CNBC.

Thanks for posting the link after my comments, Sid. Several people were saying that I made the whole thing up until you showed up with the proof. You and Jorge believed me though. Jeff Todd was awesome too. He hadn’t heard the story but actually replied to my comments and said he was gonna look into right off the bat. He did look into and Dylan Chase wrote a really good article about the interview so it was a pretty fun day for me on MLBTR. I bet Jacoby Ellisbury wishes his Friday was as much fun but I think his went much rougher than expected. Thanks Jeff Todd, Dylan Chase, Sid Bream, Jorge78 and everybody else that believed me or was involved in the article. Thanks even to SalaryCapMyth for apologizing for not believeing me and then telling people I was right. I didn’t see you on the comments for the main article that Dylan wrote about it yet Sid. Have you read it yet? It’s good. Dylan did a great job.

That’s interesting StandUpGuy because judging by the comments on this website by Braves fans the last few years Liberty Media have hamstrung the Braves with their cheapo ways. Maybe all that real estate development around the ballpark is bringing in some serious bucks! I’ll believe it when I see it!
jorge78
StandUpGuy! Congratulations on having your question answered!
I told you to keep the faith!
StandUpGuy
Thanks, Jorge! You’re the one who kept my hope alive so you deserve most of the credit. In regards to MLBTR it was actually a banner day in the StandUpGuy household. I got answered in the comments and the chat. Then Jeff said they were gonna look into the video I told them about and they actually wrote an article about it after I asked them too (Thanks Dylan. That was a great article). On top all that somebody must’ve been reading my comments because they asked the same thing in the chat and got their question answered, too.

Oh stand up guy I love your enthusiasm but you gotta take everything you “hear” with a grain of salt! I feel you will only be disappointed!

I posted like 7 questions, but the one I wanted answers about was, what a package for robbie ray would look like from the rangers.
jorge78
For a rental with declining peripherals? Probably not much. Hey! They can have Odor!
Rangers29
They can have odor, and josh hamilton’s banner.
josh_hutzol
These trade proposals are hilarious, they get worse and worse every chat!
jorge78
Right?
Rangers29
Mookie betts for inciarte…… WHAT
Rangers29
I think what makes the trade proposals so bad, is people not knowing too many mid tier prospects. Which are what make up most of the trades. It won’t be betts for inciarte and pache.
firegibby
Some bad trade proposals lol. Y not Fisher and Drury for an ace starter lol.

With Kluber now being a possible trade target for the Dodgers adding that LAD tried to trade for Lindor last year and rumoured to be a fit for the Indians as they do their thing. Would it be possible for a Lindor and Kluber deal for Verdugo, Seager or Lux and J.Urias and maybe Pederson. Is that to much? Would the Indians want another pitcher instead of Pederson and would they get it?
Would LAD part with Verdugo, Seager, Urias for Lindor and Kluber?
Cheers,
AJ
