The deadline for teams offering a qualifying offer ($17.8MM) to their own eligible free agents is 5pm ET/4pm CT this afternoon. That is also the deadline for any player or team to exercise a 2020 contract option. It is also the deadline for teams having exclusive rights to sign their own free agents and when all other teams can begin negotiating contracts with any FA.
Eligible free agents who are extended qualifying offers will have 10 days from this time to accept or reject their QO.

Note: If J.D. Martinez does not decide on the opt out by 5 p.m. ET on Monday, the Red Sox can extend him a conditional qualifying offer that would take effect should he eventually opt out. The deadline for Martinez’s opt-out decision is midnight (heading into Tuesday). I’m not certain if midnight is the deadline for all opt-out decisions or just specifically for Martinez. Most significant opt-out candidates like Stephen Strasburg and Aroldis Chapman (extended by Yankees) have already decided on their options.

We’ll remove him if and when his option is picked up. Thames as well.

How about contract option filter “none”
Just want instant gratification that’s all . Love the site

This tracker is worthless until they add an “arb eligible” filter.

Suggestion: Be able to filter by prior team as well. Even better, when you filter by team it shows all the players that were on that team and now FA’s AND those that signed with said team.

Martinez opting in saves the Red Sox $2.5M Buyout. If he opted out, Red Sox would’ve slapped a QO and gotten back a pick after around 4 when he signed elsewhere.
If the White Sox signed JD in that scenario, they’d give up pool money plus a top 55 pick.
Now 2 teams can facilitate a trade. Red Sox save $2.5M, White Sox keep their draft pick plus pool money. Contract remains intact for insurance purposes and Chicago can extend it post trade..
Maybe Luis Alexander Basabe or a few arms gets a deal done? Chaim Bloom just saved Red Sox Ownership $2.5M. And the slot value on that post Rd4 comp pick would’ve been like $400K. Not exactly a huge boost to the overall pool.
