Mark P was quite the jokester today! Loved it!
I think Verlander can play til he’s 45-50.
Sure is seeming that way.
Has anyone ever had a question answered?
You (apparently;-)
I just hate when they answer questions that anyone could easily google, like, dont do their work for them while real questions that require the mods opinion just sit out there.
typically with the chats i enter arround the start i send 1-3 questions and get one answered somewhere from 50% to 2/3 of the time.
That’s good to know. I wondered since I get about 1 in 7 responded to by the moderator. I didn’t think mine were that bad! Makes sense though that they probably filter through a lot.
Yes, I have. It’s random, for sure.
Cole & Maddon are locks imo for the angels
Most obvious thing of the upcoming offseason.
You guys should get Maddon, but Cole’s not a lock for anybody just yet.
Get it together Jerry! $23.8M is the smallest payroll in the league. You have no excuses this time.
True on payroll but Jerry will not go the 6-7 years Cole will probably get
That’s the market value for high quality starting pitchers. Any pitcher (Bauer excluded) who would take less than 6-7 years isn’t any good. So the Sox (and Reinsdorf) will have to accept that if they want to improve the roster.
CC was also a lock for a California team during the winter of 2008. How’d that go? Cole to Yanks. Another dynasty will arise.
“Dynasty”? Dont you need to win one first?
and Corbin was a lock for NYY as well. i think Cole to the Sox, Angels, or Phillies because each wants to contend next year (Sox probably more 2021) and would be willing to pay. advantage Sox in that respect given their extreme lack of big league options and lack of money commited.
What I’d like to see is an article on pitchers who strike a ton of guys out but also give up a ton of runs (Chris Archer, Dinelson Lamet, Sean Manaea in the Wild Card game, etc)
Sorry I missed it Mark! I heard good things about this chat though; EXCELLENT font sizes! At least you don’t type in Wingdings like Steve Adams.
Wingdings? That would make a great chat question… “bluecheese or ranch on you wings?”
I take him to be a vegetarian or “vegan” for some reason, but maybe he has hope after all.
Rendon already declined a $210M – $215M extension offer from the Nationals, so what makes you think $185M – $200M will get it done?
There’s no reports that say he’s declined that offer. As far as anyone knows, that offer is still on the table likely until Rendon’s ready to make a decision. But agree Mark’s $185-200 idea is well outdated
I’ve no idea if he rejected such an offer, but if it was made, i’d expect quite a bit of it is deferred. The Nats are fond of those kinds of contracts. If so, that may well be why it was or will be rejected.
That Edwin Jackson reply made me LOL for real.
