The Phillies are sending outfielder Jay Bruce right back onto the 10-day injured list, Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported (via Twitter) and the team has now announced. He had just returned from an oblique injury, but has now been diagnosed with a flexor strain in his left arm.
Outfielder Adam Haseley had been shipped back down to Triple-A to make way for Bruce. Instead, he’ll come right back onto the active roster. (The usual requirement of a 10-day stay in the minors is waived since he’s coming up to replace an injured player.)

Was gonna say… when I got the notification I was like “Didn’t he just get activated?” lol oh Phillies…
DarkSide830
its been a fun year

I was confused because I didn’t know he was activated so I thought this was old news

I wondered how Bruce came back from an oblique so quickly…..You really have to wonder if rushing back may have led to another injury.?
DarkSide830
as much as i don’t want anyone getting injured…im pleased

Yes, Mets have infected the Phils! The ever injured Jay Bruce and clunky Jason Vargas. Bring e’m own boys.
VonPurpleHayes
Two decentish outings from Vargas so far. It’s sad to say, but Vargas is the Phillies 2nd best pitcher. Still baffled by that trade as the Mets are legit contenders now. No big deal though. Mets starters are pretty phenomenal.

Mets didn’t have the room in the rotation for Vargas when they got Stroman. Surprised they didn’t get a bit more for Vargy though.
Reimagined Mariners
The market for mediocre starters that threaten the management is quite limited.
VonPurpleHayes
I understand that part of it, but to give him to an indivision rival and potential wildcard threat seemed foolish to me. Also I likr Vargas over Matz for the remainder of this year at least.
Now, if you look at run differential and how the Phillies have been playing lately, I don’t consider them a serious threat, but it still strikes me as an odd trade.

What a fu outfit?

This has been a nightmare season in terms of injuries for the Phils.

The Phils could pick up Superman right now and he’d get hurt. It’s been that kind of year.

This is Why the Mets dumped the contact on the Mariners …. He had the same problem last year when he missed most of the season

Do you have anymore contracts to dump on Seattle? Since you dumped Bruce on us and got Cano and Diaz for a bunch of not very good minor league guys we will give you Gordon and Santana we will take whatever contract you want to dump plus Allan and I don’t know Mauricio or Baty. If you think you did so good on the last trade you can totally kill it with this trade. We need a C so maybe Alverez and Allan? You can think you ripped us off then. Dipoto is awaiting your reply.
GarryHarris
DET will see you Miguel Cabrera and Jordan Zimmermann for Dee Gordon and Domingo Santana as a backup. Wait; the Tigers won’t see it as a gift horse and demand Justice Sheffield and Jake Fraley instead.

Actually, the two minor leaguers the Mets sent Seattle are doing very well (or were when I last heard).
compassrose
They are doing well that is why that post was funny. The major piece we took in the deal to get rid of Cano we got rid of. The ancillary pieces turned out to hr the valuable ones. I am sure Diaz will turn it around. Young kid first time traded had to get used to new city. Maybe s bit much for him. He struggled his first year here but he came from AA to a new world. Mets will probably dump him for a bargain baseman price. This will be a trade that haunts then for at least 5 years.

Both were mid-season top 100 prospects per MLB.com. Kelenic was top 25, I believe.
