The Diamondbacks announced a series of pitching moves. Heading onto the roster are lefty Robby Scott and righty Kevin Ginkel. The latter had to be added to the 40-man roster.
Clearing the 40-man spot was accomplished by designating Zack Godley for assignment, as expected. To procure an additional active roster spot, righty Taylor Clarke was optioned down.
Ginkel, 25, heads up to the bigs for the first time after an impressive showing in the upper minors this year. In 35 1/3 total frames on the season, he carries a 1.78 ERA with an eye-popping 16.0 K/9 and 3.6 BB/9. Ginkel has allowed only 19 base hits.

That sucks for Clarke. Dude has had a terrible run of opponents.
Three starts vs Dodgers
Two starts vs Nationals, Giants
Road vs Cubs, Rays, Rockies, Phillies Yankees
Home vs Milwaukee
Hard to have success vs that.

Agree, although welcome to the NLW and the Dback’s schedule this year. Clarke helped keep the Dbacks afloat with some quality outings, with a few clinkers thrown in. He has a limited ceiling, but certainly helped out when he was most needed. Moving forward, the Dbacks will have more quality starting pitchers next year, so Clarke might not see as many innings next year, but he’s a nice piece of organizational depth.

I think he could have success in the ALW or ALC. Has talent to be a 3or4
Baptism by fire this year tho.

Love what the DBacks are doing. Godley hopefully isn’t lost. But expect more big trades this winter.

That’s Damien Magnifico in the picture though.
