The Twins have designated right-handed reliever Carlos Torres for assignment, per Besty Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press (via Twitter). The move clears roster space for fellow righty Sergio Romo, who was acquired from the Marlins yesterday.
The Twins’ ongoing bullpen shuffle ends Torres’ brief tenure in Minnesota. His contract had just been selected Wednesday to replace fellow reliever Blake Parker, who was himself designated for assignment. Torres, 36, never got into a game for the Twins, but he did pitch in four games earlier this season for Detroit, showing a low-90’s fastball. He’s also pitched in the Padres’ organization this season and again figures to draw interest on a potential minor-league deal once he (presumably) clears waivers.

I really hope this isn’t the last move the the FO makes because they still need to get a starter and another reliever. Go get stroman and Giles so we can overcome Cleveland in the second half

To all the Cleveland fans out there, welcome to Groundhog’s Day. Indians are tearing it up right now and so long as they can keep their starting pitching duct-taped together, they should win the AL Central again. That’s when the problems start. The Cleveland offense just isn’t good enough to win games in the playoffs. They have one or two great offensive players but playoff teams can pitch around that. You can’t pitch around the Yankees lineup, Red Sox Lineup, Astros lineup, Twins lineup: heck, even the A’s & Ray’s lineups are much more of a threat.
With the juiced ball they are using this season, Cleveland can’t expect to win multiple 2-1 or 3-2 playoff games. Scores for well pitched games will be 5-4 or 6-5, and the Indians just don’t have the offensive weapons to keep pace with rest of the AL playoff teams. So post all you want about how you are coming for the Twins and will win the division, but be prepared for a first round exit; the team just doesn’t have enough horsepower.
Note: I actually like the Indians and am a huge fan of Lindor and Terry Francona. They just don’t have the ownership / revenue to make the additions they need to become true World Series contenders. And it’s going to continue to get worse before it gets better.

Cleveland caught the Twins while the Twins were in their toughest stretch of their schedule, and the Indians were on their easiest.

Falvey you really don’t how to run this team. Do us Twins fans and get a out of town. You failed seriously when failed to identify bullpen help weeks ago, when every fan knew the bull pen would sink the Twins.

Team has a one game lead in his second year as President…team is on pace for 50 more homers than the current one season record. The pitching staff ranks in the middle of the pack in era, fip, and strikeouts compared to the last regime which was always last. Signed two mvp candidates to super team friendly deals in Polanco and Kepler. But the bullpen is bad so…
Get the heck outta town. I for one hate winning as a Twins fan. I also hate having a top 5 farm system. Please take me back to the previous 30 years where we were the worst team in baseball on a consistent basis.

Thank you, nick. So tired of the cheap Pohlads, incompetent front office rant that comes from twins “fans” on social media. Shows their total ignorance of today’s game.

They’d be less cheap if Minneapolis were cooler, and allowed for more endorsements.
