According to Fangraphs, Evan Longoria was, at one time, the best player in baseball. Then he fell off a cliff. I love Paul Goldschmidt, and would hate to see it happen, but why is it assumed that he won’t fall off that same cliff?
Completely ridiculous that Padres fans keep suggesting trades that involve the Padres getting some good cost-controlled pitcher and the other team getting Wil Myers.
Yeah, the mantle has been passed from Yankee fans hoping for an Ellsbury trade, to Padre fans wishing they could unload Myers.
Hoping for a trade is one thing. But trying to put Myers in a Stroman, Boyd or Bauer trade? You have to be able to move him without eating any of his contract before you can even think about including him in a trade for one of those guys. Not every team employs Brodie Van Wagenen as their GM.
Chris Sale a snub? He’s been brutal.
