I don’t know if it’s fair to say John Means shouldn’t be an all star. 7-3 2.50 ERA the only knock would be the 75 innings but he’s also only made 13 starts. FIP/xFIP dont care for him nearly as much but this is and should be a performance vote. I wouldn’t have a problem with Lance Lynn going to the game over Means but picking a 4 ERA over a 2.5 ERA is still going to look questionable to the average fan.
The Orioles are a god awful baseball team but Mancini and Means have put up all star like performances. They just don’t get much from most of the other slots. Mancini definitely deserved to be in the game over Abreu. He’s outhitting him in every category and Giolito was already repping the ChiSox.
Eh, have to take that back I see Sale got snubbed as well. I couldn’t possibly make a case for Means being more deserving. The only thing Means has working for him there is the ERA and Wins. Which obviously really don’t mean anything but I suppose they look good when giving someone the nod. (Lynn also had 10 W’s) This wasn’t as bad as having to pick sandy alcantara from the Marlins but Mancini should’ve been the guy. I guess they were just really trying to squeeze another pitcher on the team and that was the easiest way to do so.

Rule change for the All-Star Game… if your winning percentage is below .375 you don’t get represented at the game.
How about if your team payroll is over $200M you don’t get represented? Makes about as much sense.
Rule change for all star game. If you were fan voted in and you’re not actually leading the league in anything or have a respectable anything you’re replaced with the person that should be there.
