Strike Four
Boston fans always turn on their superstars, they did it with Nomar, Papi (although he ended up staying and proving them wrong again), Pedro and now Pedroia, they are the most fickle “what have you done for me lately” fans in the game.
bravesfan88
Unfortunately, a lot of fans are that way..It’s either that, or they’re incredibly overly loyal, refusing to admit when said superstar is way past his prime..lol
Strike Four
True, but you just don’t do that to HOF-level or even borderline/just missing HOFers like Nomar. You would think of all teams Boston’s fans would be the overly loyal types you mentioned, lol
bravesfan88
That’s true, I would pretty much relate it to the us down here boo’in Freeman or McCann…Which, down here, that would be unheard of!! We typically fall in the latter category..As in, even when our stars fall off, we still like to think of them as our heroes of yesterday!! lol
bravesfan88
FINALLY, had a question answered!! lol…Actually TWO!! haha…Still though, I do have a question for anyone caring to give their two cents..
If you’re the Braves, what do you do when Ender Inciarte comes back?? Do you keep him as a 4th OF/rotating starter, and release a guy like Joyce??
Also, with the emergence of Jacob Webb, Luke Jackson, Winkler, Anthony Swarzak, and Newcomb and Touki reinventing themselves in the pen, does anyone else feel like the Braves have finally got a solid read on their bullpen??
Not to mention, the Braves still have more candidates in AAA like the rehabbing AJ Minter, Grant Dayton, Shane Carle, and Corbin Clouse. Minter looks filthy and healthy again, last night pitched two perfect innings striking out 5 batters, btw..
Strike Four
Send down Carmago, he’s still got options.
Braves should have signed Kimbrel to 5/90 in December and they still need him badly so they can take the next step.
Zach725
5/90? are you insane?
bhambrave
Yes, he is.

Strike Four back to his crazy ways. Hi Strike
Strike Four
If 5 years ago you told me a HOF closer in 2019 in his prime signed a 5/90 deal I wouldn’t have batted an eye. But instead I get called “insane” now. So wild, so you guys are all new to following baseball, huh?
Grow up, Craig Kimbrel is a HOFer, the Braves make massive profits every year, he deserves 5/90 from them, period. Just because you are wrong does not mean you can call my sanity into question. I know more than you, period.
And stop using slurs like “insane” and “crazy”, its disrespectful to almost everyone who posts online 🙂
Drew Waters Bat
It’s funny you think that he will last 5 years. How much lower can his velocity drop before he gets to be unplayable? I say your crazy because you seem to say think everyone should take into account someone’s whole work history in order to determine pay here. Yeah….NO.
Funny that you think I was slurring there. I spoke how I wanted.
You know what is also disrespectful is a baby troll who goes around acting as you do. You are as 2 faced as it comes bud. You slammed the Braves for how much they signed Acuna to, you slammed the Braves for the Albies contract. You said AA and the Braves were basically despicable in the treatment of them. Among numerous other bits you have spoken about with the Braves. Dont worry I watch you
Seriously grow up.
jimmyz
Joyce is a solid player and seems to be a good guy too, but you take Ender’s defense and baserunning over Joyce’s plate patience and occasional pop everyday when choosing a 4th OF. Besides isn’t Joyce somewhat redundant with Markakis on the roster?
Webb and Jackson seem promising, wouldn’t count on Swarzak too much and both Newcomb and Touki could become real weapons out of the pen…but that’s still a lot of hope and faith in that group, especially with such a young (and potentially volatile) rotation.
MasterShake
I’ve seen enough of Carle to know if I never have to look at him in a Braves uniform again I won’t be upset. And I believe Ender’s days in Atlanta are numbered. He falls into that category of Atlanta fans that like to hold on too long.
braves2
when is inciartes expected return? It would be a tough call to make, but I would at least wait and see how riley pans out. he came out of the gates like a beast but who knows how long that will last.
and to the guy who said send camargo down I think is ridiculous. am i the only one that feels camargo has gotten the complete shaft with the donaldson signing? he was one of our best offensive players last year and has shown improvement every year. his D at 3b is ridiculously good as well
DarkSide830
wow, so 50 games of a .800 OPS suddenly makes you not a bust. if not for having been aquired in that heist of a trade, id say most ATL fans would be in show-me mode given his production these past few years.
bravesiowafan
Clearly you don’t watch the Braves
JuanValdezz
Would the O’s trade Mancini for Schwarber and something else?
Why are the Cubs so set on not going over the cap? Three months of Chapman for Torres won the Cubs a WS. Torres has as much value as the salary and cap penalty it would take if the Cubs signed Kimbrel.
