Last night, we examined the market landscape for Gio Gonzalez, who’s back on the open market after exercising an opt-out clause in his now-defunct deal with the Yankees. As we explained there, the veteran lefty has a variety of plausible landing spots.
There’s indication that multiple clubs have already extended offers to Gonzalez, as MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand recently tweeted. While a deal isn’t imminent, it seems reasonable to think he could put pen to paper at any time. Having already built up his pitch count, Gonzalez ought to be ready to jump in and make a start at a moment’s notice.
If you’re interested in revisiting the breakdowns of each team’s situation vis-a-vis Gio, then check out the above-linked post. We’ll only list the teams that we pegged as the likeliest suitors in the poll below. Let’s see how the MLBTR readership expects things to shake out. (Response order randomized; link for app users.)

A’s!
bjhaas1977
Hoping the Mets get this done because you know that they aren’t going to buck up for Dallas.
dray16
Brewers don’t need him I’m told, they have one of the best rotations in the NL.
DarkSide830
their rotation might be the worst in the division
dray16
yep
camdog23
Might be? It is. And it’s not particularly close
ElMagoN9ne
They have one of the worst rotations in baseball. How do you figure they have one of the best?
dray16
I certainly don’t, just ask Brewer fans who ripping on me prior to the season when I suggested their rotation sucks
ElMagoN9ne
Thoss “fans” have to try to fill up a park that 90% is the away team fans. Especially when the Cubs go there. The brewers are so petty they need to enforce a rule of no one outside a Wisconsin residence can buy a ticket at their box office. That has failed several times.
When the Cubs go to Wrigley north they fill up no less than 85% of the seats..
You’re not wrong about the brewers rotation being horrible. Plus those fans have been fans only since game 163 and the first game of the NLCS..

Within 3 weeks Gio signs. Keuchel & Kimbrel 3 weeks or longer… May 15 is when QO compensation tied to both expires.
batty
The QO compensation ends the day after the draft, which is June 3-5. So the 6th of June is the mark.
angelsfan1522
I would like the angels to sign him I just don’t think they will
batty
I think the edge goes to the Brewers. He’s familiar with the organization from last season and he’d slot in nicely. The same could be said for the A’s, but i just don’t see that happening. However, each of the teams listed could use him to some extent.
DarkSide830
time for the Klenattack
lowtalker1
I’m going to say the brewers bc I was told the brewers signed him
batty
Brewers just signed Gio.
SFGiantsGallore
I’m voting brewers. They seem to be a clear favorite
DannyQ3913
Phillies better sign someone
chad
Probably Brewers
