gotta get that Brad Miller hype…he’s totally getting cut as soon as the Yanks get another INF back though…he might as well be a considered a baseball mercenary by year’s end. first of the “1-month contract” crew.

Steve Adams, a launchpad in Arlington as it warms up really ? Why are all the writers so objectively open about posting so much negativity towards the Rangers, can you tell me why the big 3 rating systems didn’t even rate the us and we’re 12-8, we just put the whooping on Astros aces that are referred to here on many comments, Matter of fact we scored 22 or 23 runs off Cole and Mchugh, yes I’m whining, but also standing up for my team. Granted we never won the show but we also never payed down or kept our payroll at 50 million while the other teams were at 100+. How bout a positive article ever now and then for The underdogs.
Strike Four
Calling the Rangers extreme-offense-generating home park a launchpad isn’t a slur.
Homerism might be the most plain-sight mental illness in America today. You do understand you sound like you need help right? The Rangers might be your fave team, but they are not a good team and no one should be talking about them in 2019 unless its about who they are trading for prospects at the deadline. Grow up.

Look who needs to grow up.

3:57 Are the Pirates really a contender?
Steve Adams
3:59 I said for awhile that they’re better than most Pirates fans were expecting;”
This is what makes Pirate fandom so interesting…
NORMALLY, the fans of a team think it’s much better than it really is (ex. the people who voted that the Reds will win the NL Central) and think it’s much better than anyone else does but fans of other teams and national media almost always think more highly of the Pirates than the locals.
I know of no other fan base of any North American pro sports teams where this is true.
DTD
So a pitcher can’t get upset about a player showing off but you can get upset and call people names because you disagree? Sounds kind of like you’re being hypocritical and overly sensitive but hey, what do I know?
petfoodfella
Of course it’s hypocritical. As long as it fits your narrative, you can use that.
Strike Four
Pitchers show off even more than hitters and they have a 70-80% success rate.
Hitting a home run with a round bat from a ball coming at 90+ MPH is the single hardest thing to do in all of pro sports. If basketball was as hard as baseball, the ring would be moving. If football was as hard as baseball the end zone would be 2 feet wide. Thus, every hitter should be doing cartwheels and backflips and celebrating EVERY single time he hits one out.
I feel like all these “unwritten rules” are made up by people who actually hate baseball and want it to be boring. It shouldnt be like this. Everyone should celebrate everything.
petfoodfella
As someone who played baseball for years, it’s not something that’s just made up. I don’t remember all of them but a good bit of them.
Baseball is hard, but Anderson went a bit much w/ his bat throw. That was out of line in the context.
The Ranger Fan
Baseball is exactly as intended,no need for cheerleaders or over celebrating as football did years ago and got out of hand, play the game and quit showboating and saying look at me.
MWeller77
DTD: Because “calling names” and throwing a 95-mph projectile at someone are the same thing. What a ridiculous take.

Lol so true

The state tax thing, despite what Steve said being true, that MLB contracts are larger and guaranteed, is not as big an issue as some think. In a state with no state tax, the players will still pay tax for any games played in states with a tax. So even if Florida has no state tax, every Tampa Rays player will pay tax for every game played in NY, with it’s high taxes. The same for every game played in Massachusetts, and on the road against the 2 teams in California, with their higher taxes. Sure, the player will save some money playing in a state with a low, or no state tax, but the difference isn’t as large as what one would think.
