1. I honestly don’t know why everyone is so convinced Paul Goldschmidt will stay in St. Louis.
2. By my count, Aledmys Diaz was optioned in 2014, 2015 and 2017. So unless he is eligible for a fourth option year (which I’m not sure what the exact rules are on that) he would be out of options.
I believe Jim Bowden’s credibility is zero now. Why do you even bother using him as a source? When I read he said Kimbrel might sit out the season… that was just idiotic to even consider.
Tim… If the report on your site earlier today is true, the Cubs, offered McCann more than he he got from the Braves. According to the same report, they lost out on Maldonado, because he wants to start and would have to backup Contreras.
I imagine if the Cubs would have offered, say, $4-5MM, one of them would have accepted. The club has demonstrated that money is extremely tight this winter.
Am I wrong thinking Ohtani was the last top prospect on an opening day roster?
