Is it bad I always get Jeff and Steve confused?
Joe Kerr
nah, I used to do the same for the first probably 3 months of chats I saw.

Jesus Luzardo looks like a beast – glad he’s not in WSH.

which non-move by a team with playoff aspirations is most surprising/concerning?
A) The Red Sox doing nothing about that bullpen
B) The Indians doing nothing about that OF
C) The Braves doing nothing about SP

C. But I think Right Field was th miss and not as much starting pitching. It seemed like there would be aces available but it just wasnt the case. Once BVW tolk over the Mets, DeGrom and Syndagaard became unavailable. Once Cleveland traded away enough smaller parts, Kluber and Bauer came off the board. Corbin wasnt available to ANY team outside of the northeast. Paxton might be a miss but its difficult to trade future talent for an aging injury risk. Seriously, he had ONE season where he did 160 innings.
Right Field, though, was different and I feel like Brantley was the big miss. He is an injury riak also but for two years he was worth it.

If it turns out there is nothing major wrong with Folty, though he’ll be playing catch-up with no ST – they should be fine. Teheran’s velocity is back up a few ticks, which is unexpected – and a couple of guys including Wright and Wilson have really looked good (Touki also, aside from 1 bad outing). The need for a SP is overstated that I think they will address by the Deadline – if there still is one. They have the arms developed and ready = and with AAA literally right down the road, they’ll be able to manipulate the roster to always have a fresh arm ready to go – something most teams don’t have the luxury of having.
I’d rather have a spot open for Pache then secure Brantley for an additional season. Is Brantley – injury risks included – really that much better than Kakes that gels with the team, came off his best season in years and won a GG? The FO may be naive, but they really believe they can get more out of Kakes with more days off – we just need to be able to rely on a 4th OF (Duvall??).
