I am ok with players getting paid but trout is not worth 400 millions for 10 years , he will be 29 , 6 years at 50 mil take him through age 34 , it doesn’t matter if you are the best player in baseball, you aren’t getting better as you get older , his value comes as a good CF , he is a great hitter, but look at Pujols , Cabrera , now if he was 26 like Harper, Machado .

You’re awful at math. Your years add up to 13, not 12
number1dodger
I’m sure he’s good at math. Sometimes people make a mistake with their calculations. No big deal. I’m sure you have made some errors in calculations by a few numbers as well.

It’s refreshing to see someone be nice on here. Cheers

Padres say no in a heartbeat to Tatis/Lindor swap. Tatis will be posting Lindor stats by 2020.
sevans36
So tatis will hit 38 homeruns and have a 7.9 war next year. I would be surprised if he did but he is hyped.

This is why i dont believe in ghost

I like your optimism but he’s still a prospect.

Trout to Philly!
number1dodger
Trout is not going anywhere. He is going to stay with the Angels. Why would he leave southern California to go play for a team on the East Coast. Especially Philadelphia.
Tom
I love the people who say “Why would he leave southern California”, implying that the weather is so good you can’t leave. However, if that were the case, and that it was a factor in Trout’s decision, I doubt he’d spend his winters in New Jersey instead of LA.
I’m not one to say that Trout is definitely coming to Philly, but I don’t also see why he’d automatically stay in Anaheim. They haven’t won anything with him, and while they have an owner who’s aggressive, he’s also impulsive and does stupid things with his payroll. I don’t see Trout signing an extension unless it’s a massive overpay—12yrs/$540M would be what it likely takes. Otherwise I think he’ll test the market and see what’s out there. It might be Philly. It might be Anaheim. It might be another club. But nothing is set in stone, and I seriously doubt the weather—along with higher taxes and basic nuttiness of CA—will have anything to do with it.
AngelDiceClay
What has Philly done in the last 10 years? Why would any player want to play in that heat with those fans. The same ones that treated Mike Schmidt like they did.Money being equal playing in SoCal is the logical choice.
tac3
Well … for starters, they made the WS in 2009. Coming off a championship in 2008. Did you know a certain someone was at THAT parade? Hanging out with THOSE fans?
Look, I’m going to try to be easy on this, because it’s true nothing is in stone, but I see Trout testing FA at a minimum. You’ll probably ask why? I’ll throw the same question back to you, What have the Angels done in the last 10 years?
Look at the Phillies roster, they are gunning for Trout. If I was an Angels fan, I’d be very very worried about the Phillies intentions. Ultimately, it will be up to Trout. Arte can offer whatever he wants, but it’s Trout’s choice in the end. I strongly believe Philly wins out, no matter how terrible everyone thinks the fans are, dirty the city is, and how it’s not California. He’s one of us. He’s coming home, for sure.

“Who would leave Cali for Philly”…
That’s an interesting point considering Harper just choose Philly over 2 Cali teams. I love the Mike Schmidt comment too. Could you possibly be any worse at this? Skip back 40 years to find your example… Lol What’s your next incorrect point?Maybe throw in snowballs at Santa to complete the cliche know nothing opinions. The point of why a guy chooses a team is flying over your head higher than Matt stairs homerun ball did.

Trout will go to the Yankees before he goes to the Phillies
NeedsMoreTime
Yes… Just like cliff Lee did
tac3
Well at least you’ll admit he’s not resigning with the LAA. That’s step 1.
Trout to Philly. No need to argue it, it is happening.
scrapple22
Those that bash Philly have obviously never been there. Nor have they seen the affluent suburbs that surround the city in PA and South Jersey. It’s a great place to raise a family. Cole Hamels still lives here. Cliff Lee signed here in part, because Yankee fans treated his wife like garbage. And because we have some of the best children’s hospitals in the country.

Colorado might ask Boston about one of their catchers? Does anyone want one of Boston’s catchers?
Padres2019ha
Padres shock the everybody and trade for Trout next year and win the World series. They try and extend him but realized they have Myers and Hosmer still on the books at 44 mil a year
Padres2019ha
Padres should not trade for pitching unless they get great deal. Luchessi and Lauer are locks for the rotation. Lamet comes back mid to end of season. Let’s find out if Paddack, Allen, Quantril, Diaz, Strahm, Nix, Perdomo or Erlin are legit. We also have Mitchell, and Kennedy that need to build value so we can hopefully trade them for something. Too many pitchers already. We’re not competing this year. Go with a six man rotation while keeping the young arms innings limited
ATLbravos
After harpers comment, you already know trout is coming to philly. Probably the reason harper chose philly was bc he was promised they will go all in on trout

JUDGE IS CONFIDENT? Aaron Judge is literally the most humble player in the game.
Jeff Todd
It is possible to be both confident and humble. Don’t think Mark was suggesting anything beyond acknowledging that Judge made a bold prediction.
