When is the new hire in San Francisco, with his analytical thinking, going to start making some moves?
I’m grateful for 2010, 2012 and 2014, but since then it has been a major disappointment. I’m excited to get younger, more talented players.

Harpers going to SF in a couple of weeks don’t worry be patient.
petrie000
I hope he has a nice vacation and then decides which contender he’s gonna sign with.
Slevin
He’s going on a humanitarian tour to help with their huge homeless population.
baseball1600
SFs homeless population is nothing compared to NY or Seattle.
petrie000
So is thier current roster, what a coincidence
baseball1600
If you’re trying to throw shade at least do so with basic spelling skills.
Slevin
Earth to Beavis, it’s the worst in the world. They have their own city within a city, it’s on blast constantly. Perhaps you and balk can do your part.
MetsYankeesRedSox
All those homeless in the street want to suck on a frigid Polar
baseball1600
You don’t think I know it’s bad? I live in San Francisco. I’m just saying look at the facts and SFs homeless population is 1/10 of New York’s.
baseball1600
statista.com/chart/6949/the-us-cities-with-the-mos… Take the time to look at the actual statistical homeless populations. SF is notorious because of the recklessness of it’s homeless, which I can confirm is terrible. It smells like urine wherever you walk and there are needles all around. But if you’re out here telling me SF has the most homeless in the world, you’re wrong. SF doesn’t even have the most homeless in California, let alone the U.S, let alone the world.
Slevin
Just stop peeing in the streets.

What a treasure trove of knowledge this thread is.
MetsYankeesRedSox
Every place Democrats govern is a veritable Eden.
ChiSoxCity
Every place democrats govern drive GDP, commerce and innovation in this country. It’s also the place where red state college grads relocate to find good paying jobs. Eden, on the other hand, is that mythical rhetorical place where conservatives live.
MetsYankeesRedSox
Coming from someone that follows a Chicago team is hilarious.

Figures this garbage would come from a Sox fan.
Central Valley
Homeless folks are also reckless and in adbundance here in the Central Valley. California as a whole I suspect is having these issues. There are homeless/mentally ill folks just roaming our streets and neighborhoods. It’s sad and very frustrating.
Mike's Trout
Yes, but a good amount of these homeless people are from out of state. They come to California because of the weak laws we have.
Slevin
A fan of the south side team at that. Have you ever been to the south side of Chicago? Better wear a vest if you go to a Sox game.
MetsYankeesRedSox
You wouldn’t catch me in a city like Chicago.
ChiSoxCity
No, these are facts derived by statisticians. Right-wingers call it garbage because it doesn’t fit their narrative. States governed by the GOP for generations lead the country in people living below the poverty line, unemployment, low high school and college grads, illiteracy, teenage pregnancy, lowest mortality rates for birth mothers and infants, and the list goes on. Who needs quality healthcare or public education when you have guns, bibles and no taxes, though?
Slevin
Na, let’s just live in perpetual chaos.
justacubsfan
Not true, princess! I live in Iowa and Gov Kim Reynolds has iowa kicking butt! Keep giving handouts though! Lefties only care about votes, not the actual people.

Link to which state has highest Poverty. Oh , a hardcore Blue State. Cue Kermit tea drinking meme.
petrie000
the level of political discourse on display by all sides right here is why trying to blame either faction for why this country is circling the drain is just darkly amusing in and of itself….
Slevin
Now let’s be civil, because he goes by Princess Caroline now.
jh8913
What does that have anything to do with politics lmao
MrStealYoBase
2 things:
1. The homeless per capita numbers are worse for SF than just about any other major American city.
2. As a White Sox fan who grew up in Chicago, you have to be living with your head in the sand if you like the way the city and state are run politically. It’s as corrupt as it gets. No money. Public institutions barely function.
Also if you think that Chicago is dangerous and “I’d never go there” then you’re an idiot. Like all major cities it has crime and violence. In a few neighborhoods it has been exacerbated in recent years since our brilliant police officers locked up all the gang leaders, leading to a free-for-all turf war in the poorest areas of the city.

Mr Zaidi has his work cut out for him trying to fix the Giants.

Yeah!
What’s it been? A week? 10 days?
Appears the guy isn’t up to the job.
And now……..
Back to Yankee fans and the never-ending saga of Andujar’s defense.

Probably the winter meetings like most gms.
Give the guy time to actually evaluate what he’s got and come up with a plan.

No way the A’s would trade Baretto, Laureano, Murphy and Puk for Noah.
jdgoat
Agreed

The 8th bullet (MLB & Fantasy) should be “trades involving Syndergaard OR Grienke,” since there is no trade listed that features both players simultaneously.
RedRooster
How do the Padres “Have enough depth at second base to replace Urias?” Who exactly do they think plays 2B if not him?
Melchez
When will do a rule 5 mock draft? I’m curious who you think might get picked and which teams will take on a project. I expect the Orioles and Tigers to choose at least one.
Some that I think might get picked…
Padres Inf Vosler
Padres Lefty reliever Travis Radke
Rays catcher Brett Sullivan
Rays Inf Kean Wong
Rays righty starter Benton Moss
Rays righty reliever Mike Franco
Rays lefty reliever Travis Ott
Cards Inf Max Schrock
RedRooster
One player I’m interested to see what happens with is Padres OF Michael Gettys. His run, field, throw and power tools are all A++ but the hit tool is basically nonexistent.
padreforlife
So you’re interested in guy who can’t hit Padres already have that in Janko.
RedRooster
Whatever you say
pinstripes17
Janko is an average to above average hitter tho
Jean Matrac
I’m not sure why I continue to read the moronic “Fro Zone”. He admits that Andujar’s defense is atrocious and that it hurt the Yankees, and yet thinks he should have won ROY. In making his opinion he seems to forget the game isn’t mostly hitting with defense as some unimportant component.
He faults Ohtani for the team’s performance like some do for the MVP. He’s a rookie. Expecting him to elevate his team’s play is ridiculous. He calls Ohtani the 3rd best hitter on his team. If that were true it would still be irrelevant; it’s between Andujar and Ohtani; where they rank relatively to their team should not even be a consideration. Besides when one of those teammates is the best on the planet even Andujar would be overshadowed.
And where this guy gets the idea that Justin Upton was a better hitter is beyond me. OPS+ has Upton at 122, and Ohtani at 152. For wRC+ Upton had a 121, and Ohtani had a 152. He diminishes Ohtani selection as the voters simply being overawed by the “wow” factor. Please. Not sure why MLBTR wants any kind of connection with this ridiculous blog.
Michael Chaney
The simple solution would be to just not read it
Jean Matrac
“The simple solution would be to just not read it”
Not sure this comment was necessary since I already questioned myself as to “why I continue to read the moronic “Fro Zone””.
Stevil
Your comment explaining everything that was wrong with that blog post is exactly why MLBTR provides links to blogs: to generate conversation. Blog posters and commenters alike can learn in the process.
For the record, I completely agree with you about Ohtani. Thankfully, this isn’t a discussion in the aftermath of him not winning the ROY award.
Jean Matrac
Good point. 47 comments so far to bolster this. I guess I expect these blogs to be at, or at least aspire to, the level of MLBTR, which is asking a lot .
joshb600
I’d have to take Goldy over Arenado. Arenado is going to make a LOT more money and is not nearly as good of a player offensively outside of Colorado.
Danny B.
You’re dead wrong about Arenado. Other than 2018, Arenado had an .886 road OPS in ’17, .832 OPS in ’16 and .835 OPS in ’15.
prestigeworldwide
Goldies OPS was 1.005 in 15′ .899 in 16′ .966 in 17′ and .922 last year. I think you proved his point.
Arenado is looking to make 26.1M this season in arb. That’s 11.6 Million more than Goldie. Not sure why 5 people down voted the guy for his honest and reasonable opinion.
billysbballz
I take Arenado complete game over Goldy.
Danny B.
I like the offers for Syndergaard proposed in that article but for the Athletics, they would have to include another piece, maybe Kyler Murray. As for the proposed Brewers package they would undoubtedly have to include either Freddy Perelta or Jacob Nottingham.

Ya, it was pretty bad. A lot of folks believe the Yankees gave up too much for Paxton and the package he has the Padres giving up was even better.
I would absolutely hate the Braves trade idea. The Braves are pretty enthusiastic about Camargo and so am I. I can’t see them giving up just Camargo for those two let alone throwing in a couple prospects on top of that.
gino 2
The Nata would be wise to trade Zimmerman and trade for Goldschmidt. That would improve the 1st base position a great deal and getting rid of the oft injured R. Zimmerman would be very smart.
Knowthemarket
To echo the guy bellow me, why would Arizona want Zimmerman?
prestigeworldwide
I read that like 2 separate trades. Zimmerman wouldn’t go to zona.
padreforlife
Why would D’Backs want Zimmerman
