I don’t understand why Atlanta would trade a guy like Fried or Gohara for a corner outfielder who has very little speed, doesn’t play good defense, and has NEVER even been a league average hitter UNLESS they think that Mazara can take a serious leap with the bat.
Allard (who projects as a 4th or 5th type starter) would be the best I’d think they’d offer. Definitely wouldn’t see the other guys as part of a package. Corner outfielders with similar type profiles seem to be plentiful and cost very little to obtain.

Rangers need SPs in the worst way. I agree with you about corner OFs. You can find them anywhere. And Mazara hasn’t shown much in his 3 years in the bigs.

No, I don’t think this is a great comp, but look at Adam Duvall in terms of COF market rates. We basically cleared 40-man spots by getting him though he struggled, some took a leap on the jump to conclusions mat by stating he could be a long term answer. I don’t, though he will be better than 2018. That being said, he has been much more productive than Mazara and has the same years of control left, though Mazara has a higher ceiling and floor. I don’t think he is enough of an upgrade to warrant a top-100 prospect, unless Ron Washington can vouch for him. (Mazara was with TEX for 2 years before Wash left in 2014 — maybe not a lot of Notes from a young kid).

Pollock will be around 4/60. Corbin will get 5/125
