The article about the proposed Pirates/DBacks trade states that Arizona has committed to a full tear-down, which is completely false.

If AZ is committed to a full blown rebuild, that would have warranted multiple articles in MLBTR before now.

Here’s an idea for Pittsburgh. Undo the archer trade and send those guys for ray and Ahmed. Send 2 of those guys for that pair. Keep the third. Too bad that’s jot an option.

If DeGrom, Syndergaard and Wheeler are healthy going into next season, Matz doesn’t really have a high bar to clear to be useful. He posted a 3.40 ERA/3.39 FIP in 2016, and that’s realistically attainable with small cuts to his walk and HR rates. I do wonder how his stuff would play in the bullpen though, after seeing how Lugo and Gsellman – two other guys with marginal stuff – generally looked better as relievers.

Reynaldo Lopez shouldn’t be considered to be one of the worst pitchers.

After Machado’s antics , I know longer want the phillies to get him. He belongs with the dodgers or yankees.
