It’s legal now… shhh naysayers. I don’t use this, but I have NO problem with this advertisement.

When were free contests ever not legal?

I much prefer Super Bowl squares. Completely random as opposed to some skill involved. Anyone have similar recommendations?

Bryce Harper: .450 BA (18-for-40) .560 OBP, 8HR, 19 RBI, in 48 PA vs SP Julio Teheran.
Harper has a ridiculous 1.125 SLG, 1.685 OPS
2 grand slams. Harper owns Teheran so bad, MLB compiled this 6 min vid of Harper HRs.

Till they meet (if) again. Harper will probably go 0-for-5 with 5K (Platinum sombrero)
Baseball’s funny like that

“It’s legal now.”
Soze weed. You are conveniently ignoring MLB’s historical antipathy towards all things gambling, xabial, gambling on baseball in particular. MLB and this website’s choice of money over integrity doesn’t change a thing for those of us who grew up understanding that baseball and gambling shouldn’t mix. That is if one is a fan of honest baseball. If you’re a fan of gambling this is undoubtedly a great and overdue change.

I’ve never really understood why anyone is against sports gambling, especially baseball. The ONLY thing I can think of is if players start throwing games. But there has to be a way to ensure that doesn’t happen.

“The only thing I can think of is is players start throwing games.”
It wouldn’t happen that way. Players have too much personal investment to throw meaningful games nowadays.
The problem with these “daily fantasy” games is that they are not dependent on team wins but on individual performance. A pitcher wouldn’t have to throw a game to cash in, he could play to win vs. eight members of the opposing lineup and just serve a few meatballs to one player in particular.
What MLB has going for it now is the perception that all MLB games are on the level. Once this daily fantasy crap has spread that may no longer be the case.

Thanks Tim! I think I will check it out, but I will have to do so via their main website rather than clicking on your referral link and referral ID.
It’s just a personal preference as it’s not a unbiased referral when referral links are involved. Thanks for the heads up though!

“ . . . it’s not a unbiased referral when referral links are involved.”
Did you miss this part:
“This is a sponsored post from DraftKings.”
Nobody is pretending that this is unbiased—or anything other than a paid advertisement.
