The Warriors only need one more win to take home their second straight title, which means we may just be days away from the start of a very eventful 2018 NBA offseason.
Stars like LeBron James, Paul George, and DeMarcus Cousins are poised to hit free agency, while others – such as Kawhi Leonard and Kemba Walker – could become trade candidates. Meanwhile, standout Arizona center Deandre Ayton looks like the favorite to be picked first overall by the Suns on draft night two weeks from today, but the order behind him remains a mystery.

Warriors complete 4-0 sweep. I feel blessed to have watched this team. Haters love hating, but they have best shooter of all time(Steph), 2nd best player in the world (Durant) Klay Thompson(Damn good shooter; once scored 40 in 1 quarter!)
LeBron’s been to 8 straight Finals, but how can he be the GOAT, when he’s about to be 3-6 all-time in Finals?
jdgoat
Those two things don’t relate. He’s easily the best ever. Losing to a super team doesn’t change that

Well said my man.

I couldn’t really care much less about the NBA specifically, but in general I don’t really dig the narrative that a player’s team’s success in the playoffs should have that large of an impact on their legacy (unless they themselves continually fail to show up, which doesn’t seem to be the case with LeBron). Long seasons and lots of variables to consider outside of a few 7-game series.
I mean, Mike Trout’s never been to the playoffs, but I think it’s largely agreed that he’s the best player int he MLB right now 😛
thegreatcerealfamine
Mike Trout was in the 2014 playoffs
hiflew
You can’t blame the guy for forgetting that since they were swept. But if you would prefer,Mike Trout’s team has never WON a playoff game and yet he is still considered the best player in MLB.
thegreatcerealfamine
Being swept has nothing to do with his post.
Mattimeo09
It was fun while it lasted, hope King James can find success with some other team

The NBA season unfolded exactly as I knew it would and I haven’t watched the NBA since Jordan retired the second time.
How is it good for a league that everyone knows how each season will end?
thegreatcerealfamine
Ratings are up.
#2 most popular sport in the country, and gaining.
Of the top 100 known and followed athletes in the world the NBA has the most Americans.
Must be doing something that is good for the league.
jdgoat
Which is ridiculous because like the first poster said, this outcome was predictable 8 months ago

I never said it wasn’t working, I wondered how and why.
None of my theories are flattering to NBA fans, so I’m looking for any possible alternative explanations.
thegreatcerealfamine
Change in the population dynamic, for one.
