About the marlins trade thing…
Castro to the crew, contract paid down could be helpful for both sides. Not that I want to part with prospects but we need a 2B. At all. Also, Bour could go to the rockies, no? He’d fit right in.
Jeff Todd
I don’t disagree that they are useful players. Said as much. Just don’t see them bringing back any kind of haul.
Because of that, I kind of still feel like Bour will stay put — he’s a fun and marketable player — though if some team really likes him maybe they’ll offer enough to make it worth the Marlins’ while.

You can’t be serious! Lopez is the steal of this trade and for you to miss this has me questioning your opinion.
Jeff Todd
I’m not sure he’d have been a steal, per se, even if he was pitching like an ace. He was widely regarded as a high-end pitching prospect, so everyone knew he was a valuable asset.
The issue with his performance to this point is that he’s not showing underlying numbers to match the ERA. He does not excel in terms of strikeouts, walks, home runs, or groundballs. He has allowed a .202 batting average on balls in play against him (BABIP), which is not sustainable. And Statcast suggests he has been exceedingly fortunate (.372 xwOBA vs. .280 wOBA).

What does babipy mean? In reference to Lopez? He has many quality starts.
Jeff Todd
See above. He has been delivering good actual results, no question. But signs are it’s not going to continue.
