OK time for the Bi-Weekly debate on whether the Yankees should go after Harper.
Ironman_4life
Noone knows cause its all a matter of opinion but who do you think will get a bigger contract. Harper or Machado?
thegreatcerealfamine
That was a question on MLB tonight Friday. If I was gonna guess it would be Harper but not by a ton. People fantasize about that one great season, his tools, the hype since he was a kid, and what could be. Either one is gonna back the truck up.

He has 2 excellent seasons under his belt (with the bat, at least), and even his “bad” ones are well above average – again, speaking of his offensive. He’s currently rocking a .907 OPS with a .228 batting average, coming off a ridiculously low .194 BABIP. One his numbers start to normalize, he’ll likely be supporting another 1.000+ OPS season, or close to it. His floor/ceiling combo is just ridiculous, especially for a 25 year old.
And that doesn’t even touch on the off the field stuff. He’s one of the most marketable players in the game right now.

I just don’t know how anyone thinks he can stay healthy playing center field. I foresee -12DRS and injury prone.
thegreatcerealfamine
If he signed with the Yankees he wouldn’t be playing CF.

I think Harper still, but Manny is doing his best to make it a legitimate conversation. If he wasn’t playing horrible defense at SS, he’d have a better argument.
A good defensive SS with the bat he’s swinging this year would be $$$$.

Please find another blog source for the Giants. Dyer is a buffoon
Ninth 3 Year Plan
Yeah he’s really bad isn’t he?
I like how he presumes Ramos won’t be called up till he’s 24 cause the Giants always keep their players buried in the minors, then in his next paragraph he talks about Arroyo who was promoted last year at the age of 21…..um
claude raymond
Yes, and how Arroyo was “inexplicably traded”. They got an all star third baseman and arroyo has hit .200 in AAA so far. Longoria is frikkin good
vtadave
Arroyo, was no big loss, but Longoria hasn’t been an All-Star since 2010, and he’s just not very good anymore..

Ok

In reading the article on Chris Davis, does he have the worst contract in baseball right now?
Ironman_4life
As an Oriole fan i think its a horrible contract. He says in interviews there paying him to hit home runs. Im still waiting. Jason heyward has another bad contract.
