Garbage.

I’m guessing it pertains to new accounts only so I am not able to score the free plays. I would imagine the free entries would be for the large prize multiple entries type contests which are where the big dogs play so don’t be discouraged if you get crushed. Try it out – find some friends of your skill level or stick to low entry fee small contests and you’ll do fine. I’m not particularly good at mlb yet but still enjoy it and have hit the occasional decent pot.

It helps when you know stats like: Bryce Harper has lifetime: .450 BA (18-for-40) .560 OBP, 8 home runs, 19 RBI in 48 PA against Braves Pitcher Julio Teheran.
Harper has 1.125 SLG, 1.685 OPS against Julio Teheran.

Not that you would be interested but I crushed it with sanchez last night – he owned price. You play on DK?

How is it free if you have to make a deposit first?
riffraff
hiflew – the 13 contest entries are free are gift from draftkings for making an initial deposit. Kind of like buy one get one free concept. They are hoping you will like it and spend the $5 on other contests but you can always put the $5 in ..play the free games.. withdraw the $5. Also by depositing money into your account they know where to send any winnings as well as have enough of your information to send to irs if you win a taxable amount.

“ . . . the 13 contest entries are free are gift from DraftKings for making an initial deposit.”
This is a business promotion not a gift. DK knows that a certain percentage of people who sign up for this will go on to make—and lose—substantial additional deposits. So, while there may be some people who make the deposit, play for free and then withdraw their deposit, there are enough future fish to make it a successful promotion. But nothing about this “deal” or any other promotion DK runs remotely resembles a gift.
“They are hoping you will like it . . . “
. . . and continue playing and losing. Pays their electric bill.
“Also by depositing money into your account they know where to send any winnings . . . “
For the vast majority of folks who gamble at DK this won’t be a concern.
Nothing agin’ you, riffraff, but DK remains on my feces list.

I take nothing personal from any messageboard type give and take – its all good. Its also quite obvious that you are not a fan of Draftkings type games and to that I say “to each their own”. I am curious though – is it this particular type of gambling or all gambling that irks you so? Do you condemn states with scratch offs? Lottery? Horse racing? Sports betting in Vegas? Casinos? Office superbowl pools?

“It’s also quite obvious that you are not a fan of DraftKings type games . . . “
I am not a fan of DraftKings type companies. They knew they were pissing people off with their loud, obnoxious and ceaseless ads and they didn’t care. Screw them. DraftKings can’t file for Chapter 7 soon enough.
“Is it this particular type of gambling or all gambling that irks you so?”
Thought we did this dance before. While gambling is one of the few vices which has never appealed to me, my objection here is to the lowlifes at DraftKings who intentionally harassed me via its between inning spam on the mlb internet package. Don’t have any problem with folks like you who enjoy the “action”.
“Do you condemn states with scratch offs? Lottery? Horse racing? . . .”
Not condemning anyone here other than DK for annoying me repeatedly and MLBTR for promoting gambling on baseball at this website. While I do not gamble in any form—the stock market isn’t gambling—I don’t necessarily have a problem with those who do. My issue is with folks who don’t care how much their advertising interferes with my enjoyment of baseball.
