I don’t think the yanks want to be in hot water if they sign Machado in the upcoming offseason as Aaron Judge was trying to recruit him. Something along the lines of that happened in the nba someone recruiting another player and the team was in hot water and basically was not allowed to sign that player or some bad things were going to happen against them.
Houston We Have A Solution
Stanton is so opting in. Marlins win the trade.
TheTrotsky
Calling it before a month?
Houston We Have A Solution
Yankee fans were calling this the steal of the century screaming high way robbery.
So far Marlin’s are winning this trade because they got out from under that gigantic contract. Yankees get to pay him when he opts in.

Wait……….
If Stanton “Opts-In”…..(which means that he stays with the Yankees for his entire contract)……The Marlins have to pay the Yanks like $30 Million. How is that a “Win” for them??? Wouldn’t it be better if he “Opts-Out”…and they DON’T have to pay a penny, and they get to keep the prospects???
Houston We Have A Solution
Marlin’s pay him ,30 mill Yankees pay him around 180 mill if he opts in.
PopeMarley
It’s more then 30 million.

The yankees are not signing Machado or Harper
Bocephus
Are you an insider?
Instead of such a blanket statement please explain why not.
Philliesfan4life
I just don’t see it happening , They have a crowded infield plus torres is waiting in the wings. They have Clint Fraizer waiting as well, Plus why in the world would the yankees throw almost 500-600 million on two players. Thats how much the total would be for both.
brucewayne
They need to work more on the rotation over any position players!

So much can change in 6 months, hell even by the trade deadline…

Some how the Yankees need to trade Stanton in the offseason to the Dodgers so the Yankees can sign Harper. I don’t know if its feasible so don’t attack me, its just a thought. I feel like it would be a win win for Stanton and the Yankees (Stanton goes home, Yankees get a younger guy). And I’m not just saying this because Stanton is struggling to start the season. Obviously the Dodgers would have to take on Stanton contract in order for this to work, but its just an innocent thought I had.

I think the Yankees will try to sign one of either Harper or Machado and then trade the farm for a big time ace like Bumgarner if the Giants don’t get it together. After Kershaw the pitching market isn’t all that deep and I don’t see them throwing $20-$30 million plus at guys like Kuekel and Price. Kershaw I can see, but I’d still be weary of it due to the injury & the amount of mileage on his arm. Corbin is an interesting case but the Yankees need a dominant pitcher and his track record hasn’t proven that up until this point, and no I’m not counting where he’s at right now because it’s only a month into the season. We’ll just have to see how this all plays out.
