Why do people assume the Jays are punting, they could very easily sign Darvish or Arrieta, sign Bruce or Martinez, sign an ultra-cheap vet like Granderson or Werth, sign maybe a reliever, and they got a contender.
How ? They’re cheap.
They assume it because the Jays probably SHOULD do it.
They don’t have a contender in that division.

Mike Trout’s first seven years are stupendous, but Pujols’ first ten years were better.
