lol @ the Chris Archer to Brewers post
“BREWERS GET:
RHP Chris Archer
RAYS GET:
CF Keon Broxton
OF Corey Ray
RHP Corbin Burns”
Not even Brinson or Phillips… Keon Broxton. I’m pretty sure that’s a hard no from Tampa
ray_derek
I would sure hope so…lmao
Sibert18
Didn’t even read article but as soon as I saw I assumed Brinson would be almost a must. To hear he and other top prospects aren’t included makes me laugh
Chris Sale Amateur Tailor
This is the garbage we end up reading when you fail repeatedly to give your readers quality links to blogs that actually know what they are talking about
padreforlife
Really East Village Times lol give guy with balky knees 300 mil to team with no DH and small market
camdenyards46
Your saying to put Machado at dh? Have you seen his defense? And his knees were balky in 2012-14 but then he got surgery on both and they haven’t been hurt since.
camdenyards46
I do agree that he will probably not sign there, though, as he would most likely be over their price range.
JFactor
I have to agree.
The blogs are consistently really really bad.
I’ve stopped trying to read any
justin-turner overdrive
Yeah, Brinson is going to TB if Archer is going to Milw. Nothing less.
hatstotheleft
Rays already have someone better than Broxton in Smith, plus the 59th & 97th prospects are nothing special. These bloggers fail to realize that you’re trading for an above average SP with an insanely team friendly contract.
kiermaier
Mallex Smith isnt better then Broxton he was very hard to watch last year didn’t play good defense and was sloppy on the base pads.
lilpartialbaldo
Would like to see the Yankees pick up Darvish and Cole.
dirtydan
Why? They already have 5 starters
Perksy
I prefer Archer. AL East proven, durable, and extremely reasonable contract for 3 years.
justin-turner overdrive
You willing to give up Frazier, Florial and Montgomery? Its scary that the Yankees actually could do that trade and they’d still have a stacked farm. They really are in a position to do something like that and not really hurt the long term outcome but really put them in a position to win it all in ’18.
tbonenats
I think it would take more than that. Not a ton more but more…would have to throw in Adams or Sheffield imo for Rays to accept.
jdb33
“AL East proven” ha
bobtillman
More like Burns, Harrison, Ercerg and Lutz for Archer……..Rays have absolutely zilch RH power in system, and need a 3B, even if he’s a couple of years away.
jrwhite21
It’ll start with Torres. Price will go up remarkably within the AL East
Bruin1012
Wow you really think you can get Archer without trading your top prospects. It will be Brinson, Ortiz and Burnes. That’s way more realistic what it will take to pry Archer.
Padres2019ha
I do enjoy The East Village Times and am glad they get some burn from MLBTR. But The Padres are not signing Machado. No small market team will be able to afford him.
justin-turner overdrive
What should Minnesota do if they don’t get Darvish? Uhh, go after literally all else. They are 2 decent SPs away from being serious contenders and they really shouldn’t be making any trades at this point with Sano’s future uncertain. Cobb, Lynn, Cashner, Arrieta, Hellickson, Santiago or Vargas all fit into that rotation around Berrios, Santana and Gibson. If they get two of those they turn into serious contenders.
Blue_Painted_Dreams_LA
Kemp and leadership is an oxymoron. Not sure how you can make a claim that Kemp could cover for any of Brockton’s deficiencies. Not the greatest of blog postings.
Phillies2017
Despite Matsui’s post season heroics back in 2009, none of his hall of fame statistics support his induction.
He posted a 21.2 career WAR, a Black Ink of 3 (27 is the recommendation), Gray Ink of 31 (144). HOF Monitor of 36 (100) and an HOF Standard of 21 (50).
Furthermore, he only posted WAR’s above 3.0 three times in his career.
I’m not a “small-hall” kind of guy who nit-picks every candidate, however Matsui is very big stretch, and while I’ll admit, I am bitter about 2009, I’m basing my argument on statistics- completely emotion free.
davidcoonce74
Yeah, not that it would ever happen, but if Matsui was somehow inducted into the hall he would be easily the worst outfielder in Cooperstown, and there’s a lot of undeserving ones there already.

If Jim edmonds can’t even stay on the ballot for a 2nd year no way matsui should get in.
