Barring a major acquistion, Kyle Hendricks is the ace of that rotation. Lester will pitch on opening day just so he doesn’t throw a temper tantrum, but Hendricks is better.
WalkersDayOff
Without Arrieta or a big acquisition that would be a weak rotation.

It’s hard to judge that rotation until 2 more spots are filled. Their top 3 are quite good. They would have to fill the other 2 spots with Brett Anderson types for it to be even remotely weak. I think Thoyer already learned their lesson last year.

I have no idea why any runner who gets on against Lester doesn’t just run to the next base asap. It’s not like he’s going to pick you off on a regular basis.
jdgoat
The last paragraph of the Jays from the Couch article is spot on.

I wonder how all the gm’s in the majors would rate their pitchers, like if they could pick up any one of them for the year for free at equal salaries, who would be picked most often, who would be second. Could really see any of Quintana, Lester, and Hendricks being the preferred guy.

Why does the headline say Cards but it’s not under the Cardinals category?

P. Breakdown throws out some interesting scenarios for a Gerrit Cole/Twins trade….if Pirates could ever be the aggressor for once, they might be able to drive the SP trade market.
branden burden
Arrietta not worth what he is going to ask…Cubs know this and that’s why they are not pursuing him hardcore. Not the best year for him I mean he had his moments but not worthy to ask for money he will ask for. No doubt we need pitching and I would say Baez and a guy like Maybe happ for Archer!
