Regarding the Nationals picking up Gonzalez’s option: it’s guaranteed if he pitches 180 IP in 2017.. He’s currently at 162, so it’s looking like a lock anyway.

Right. Lock either way unless his arm falls off this weekend, basically. My point in responding to that question was mostly just to say that I don’t really see him as an extension candidate.
