Either I read it wrong, or I don’t understand Jeff’s Big Big Love for the Dodgers’ rotation.

people like LAD’s rotation because it has the best pitcher on the planet, some decent rate stat guys, lots of depth, and some promising young guys too.
You can see what the projections say about their rotation here fangraphs.com/blogs/2017-positional-power-rankings…. I assume the high volume of pitchers that are projected to give reasonably significant production is a big part of it. Whether you agree with those projections is another story.

Yeah … start with Kershaw, add some pretty interesting arms along with unprecedented (?) depth, mix Urias et al. It’s certainly different than a classic strong 1-5 like, say, the Cubs or Nats have. But I like it.
Upon reflection, I could also lean Mets here. Great mix of multiple top-level arms and depth with upside, too.

Jeffrey Todd
2:18 So we are assuming the acquiring team pays the full salary? In that case, I don’t really think he’d command much at all. Not sure I would have expected him to out-earn 2/23 (or whatever it is exactly) on the open market after his poor season.
wow, it’s like this is exactly what everyone has been saying except ws fans…
