The latest minor moves from around baseball:
- The Twins have brought back minor league catcher Dan Rohlfing, as he announced and Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press confirmed (Twitter links). Rohlfing originally joined Minnesota in the 14th round of the 2007 draft and remained with the organization until it traded him to the Mets in April 2015. After a yearlong stint in the Mets’ system, he spent most of last season with the Diamondbacks’ Triple-A affiliate and slashed .289/.331/.474 with five home runs in 149 plate appearances. In all, the 27-year-old has batted .244/.316/.338 across 10 minor league seasons and 2,189 PAs.

Why mock minor moves?

It’s because CASUAL Twins fans are among the most ignorant fan bases. These are the fans who screamed for Terry Ryan to be fired, and then don’t give new management a chance – hey – it’s been a WHOLE MONTH since they’ve been in charge. These are fans who believe Joe Mauer, with his concussion history, should be moved back to catcher. These are fans who believe that Joe Mauer can be traded (he has a no-trade clause.) These are fans who believe that the Twins don’t win because ownership is cheap. These are fans who believe that they actually had the assets to make the Chris Sale trade. These are fans who cheered as Brian Dozier hit a large chunk of his 42 homeruns in late August and September – long after the team was out of contention (in part due to Dozier horrendous start.) These are the fans who believe that the Twins should keep Dozier – “Why trade the teams best player – the number speak for themselves?” is a common theme.
For more hilarity (and evidence), read the comments section of the Minneapolis Star Tribune when there are stories on the Twins.

Isn’t this more of a minor league transaction than a minor major league transaction?
