Why is CC Sabathia on this tracker?

Oops, just a leftover regarding his vesting option. I removed him, thanks.

I’m liking the ability to scroll the list while moving the top line of the breakdown of players positions, QO’s, etc. Would like to see age incorporated. Keep up the good work TD. Also congrats on your favorite teams WS victory.

Good catch. James Shields is on there as well, but he has already been said not to opt out.

Just a heads up, Rays have already re-signed Dana Eveland. Wish they hadn’t, but they did

Also, it looks like a good amount of players who had options exercised are still on there. Wade Davis, Alcides Escobar, Jaime Garcia, Jason Grilli, Pat Neshek, and Carlos Ruiz at first glance

Cashner is a lot better than his last two years.

His pitches have always been better than what he has shown after he has left a game most of the time, which leaves one wondering what could happen if he had the right people working with him and his shifty mechanics.

he seems focused enough out there, yet wastes more pitches than should for some reason many times and has high pitch counts, seems to have poor command of the strike zone for a guy who looks pretty intense on the mound (casual observer)

What if a team that has a reputation for getting more than individual talent out of guys got hold of him? Pirates? Cardinals? He’s the probable most likely to get overpaid anyway as the best SP option out there and a #3 on his best days in a pitcher’s park the last few years, yet the talent it seems was there.

I don’t see either of those 2 teams being the 1 to over spend on him, tho if they were? maybe the true Cashner could maybe have come forth.

Breaking News: the top FA’s all want to play for the Mets. But since the FA class is so incredibly bad, the Mets say no thanks and maybe just resign Cespedes. All teams are calling the Mets non-stop for their crazy good prospects anyways.

The biggest dilemma the Mets have is – 1. Do they trade a few prospects, just a few – still retaining MLB’s best farm system, and go all-in this year and win it like the Cubs in totally dominating fashion or 2. Trade no prospects, win the WS because their pitching is loaded with future HoFers, then become a dynasty never seen before in MLB because of their superstar prospects? Tough decisions for the Mets front office.

The Mets could be MLB’s version of the 70s Steelers. Dominating. Intimidating. Overwhelming. Loaded with hall of farmers. Can’t wait.

NY Jimbo – Yeah ok lmao – what ever makes you feel better. Doubt the Mets are going anywhere and doubt they resign Cespedes. Which was a waste of money last year on a gamble that got them no where.

The Mets made the wild card game, it got them into a coin flip and that’s something that’s led to a few World Series runs for other wild card teams. By your definition of “nowhere” every team except for the Cubs “got nowhere”. All you can ask is for a shot at getting in, which Cespedes gave them. Playing on one leg, I might add, for a good two months. He carried a Mets team that made the wild card game while totally destroyed by injuries, what they did was actually pretty incredible.

Cespedes wants to return to the Mets and the Mets want him back, there is a good chance he signs there. And lol at the Mets “not going anywhere”. Ridiculous troll post about them dominating duly noted, but this team is going to be a contender for the next several seasons and a legitimate threat to go on a long playoff run because of their pitching. Their starting pitching is elite, and that makes you a threat every year. They have some very good young position players in the mix as well.

The filter is doing some weird things. For example, when I filter for ‘Throws’ on ‘Left’ and leave all other filters on default, Aroldis Chapman is not on the list. Furthermore, this filter only shows pitchers, even if I put the ‘Position’ filter on e.g. first baseman. (not a big deal, but just to let you know).

EDIT: Putting the ‘Position’ filter on ‘Left Field’ and leaving all other filters on the default setting gives no matches. It just says ‘This free agent tracker covers the time period beginning the day after the World Series ends in 2016, up until the day before Opening Day 2017.’

Thanks for the option guys, we’re in better shape there now.

Chapman is just a bug, we’ll get that fixed. Ditto the LF filter.

As far as the Throws filter only working for pitchers, that is by design, as I figured people aren’t too concerned with how position players throw.

I think y’all should have a column for each MLBTR writer with a prediction for where they think the top free agents will end up, how much they will get and how long, then we can see who is most often correct and the person who gets the most wrong should have to hold a chat session where we get to tease them for all their bad predictions!
