I saw the Longoria to the Braves question. That is something as a braves fan I’ve had nightmares about: the Braves attempting to acquire Longoria and Odorizzi. Yes it would definitely help the team in 2017, but man on man is it going to cost a ton in players and they will owe money to Longoria for quite awhile.
I will say that despite the pitching wealth of the Rays that I definitely expect them to be sellers. The AL East will be tough again in 2017 and the Rays have a lot of weaknesses.

I don’t think Longoria is a big enough upgrade over Garcia to justify the expense the trade would take or cost to pay him going forward.

I can certainly understand not wanting to do what it would take to add Longoria, but I’m not sure what Garcia has to do with it. He has been better in the second half, I know, but there doesn’t seem to be much reason to think he’ll ever be much more than a replacement level player. He’s actually older than Longo, too, fwiw.

JT..solid chat.
I agree about the Bartolo question. While the Mets have depth (hypothetically), he has really been the glue that has help together that pitching staff over the past few years. I think he is a must sign. I’d be curious to see if he pushes for 2yr, as he has shown a willingness to take below market $ to stay w. the Mets. Will he do it again…who knows. The ownership still sucks too, so they could lowball him and screw up the whole scenario anyway. I’d love for him to have a Wakefield like deal, so he can decide if he wants to go/stay…but again…the ownership sucks when it comes to $.
