The Braves have outrighted infielder Kyle Kubitza and righties Wilfredo Boscan and Madison Younginer, according to MLB.com’s transactions page. The moves clear three spots on the Braves’ 40-man roster.
Atlanta claimed Kubitza from the Rangers last month, and he’s played just 17 games in the Braves’ system since then. The 26-year-old, originally a Braves draftee, has played for three organizations since 2011, posting a career .262/366/.420 minor league line. He’s had a disappointing 2016 season at the Triple-A level, with a .215/.319/.341 line over 455 plate appearances while playing primarily third base, first base and outfield.
Like Kubitza, Boscan is a recent waiver claim — the Braves snagged him from the Pirates in August. The 26-year-old made his big-league debut with the Bucs in 2016 but spent most of the season starting at the Triple-A level, with a 4.16 ERA, 5.6 K/9 and 2.0 BB/9 in 93 innings.
The 25-year-old Younginer spent six years in the Red Sox system before joining the Braves via a minor league deal last offseason. He pitched well in the bullpen at Double-A Mississippi and threw in the mid-90s in his big-league debut this season, but posted poor results in both in the Majors and at Triple-A.

Albies? Tebow?
fettichico shiznilty
Yes!!
dwhitt3
Now batting for the Atlanta Braves, the right fielder, number 15, Tim Tebow, number 15
angelsinthetroutfield
But the Angels system was moronic for dealing Kubitza for cash…….
RunDMC
Didn’t they trade him for then 17 year old Ricardo Sanchez?
angelsinthetroutfield
Yep. The initial move wasn’t great but when they gave him to Texas people were up in arms
angelsfan4life
That was one of many brilliant trades by Jerry Dipsnot. Hell Jerry Dipsnot is so smart he traded Mark Trumbo not once but twice. And if you combined both trades, he still hasn’t gotten a good player yet.
BoldyMinnesota
Skaggs? Santiago? Not world beater but both are good. And trumbo wasn’t very good until this year, and he’s still only hitting homers and is brutal in the outfield.
angelsfan4life
With the Angels Trumbo averaged 30 home runs and 95 RBI’s. So he was good with the Angels.

Definitely not Tebow. In fact i doubt that Albies will be added right now either. The Braves had a lot of players (whom I think almost all they intend to keep) who are already on the 60 day DL (who will after the season need to be added back to the roster) so I’m unsure how many current non roster players will be added.
Albies and Dustin Peterson (two players who have had great years at AA) are both slotted to go to the AFL in October. While possible they head to Atlanta it wouldn’t be surprising if they are not the ones added right now either..
BravesNomad
Only move here that surprises me is the outright of Kubitza, the others not so much. This mat be a prelude to clearing roster spots heading into the offseason.
depley
I do not think Albies will be added just yet, he is still only 19 and with AFL lurking I would not expect him to be added till sometime next season. I do think that it is possible that Newcomb after last nights pitching gem might be though. It might be after the AA playoffs if the Mississippi Braves make it
RunDMC
If he’s added to the 40-man roster can he not pitch for AA?

Guess Younginer didn’t find the Braves suitable either. He was Boston’s consolation prize sign at 1m in ’09 when Brandon Kline wouldn’t sign. Long run seems both ended up as expensive draft busts for Boston and then the Orioles.

I don’t usually post much, but all the Tebow yammering made me come outta my hole. I saw MJ (Michael Jordan) take a shot at the BigsofBaseball for the Birmingham Barons in the early nineties and Jordan outclasses Tewbow’s athleticism by miles. MJ was tied up like a pretzel at the plate… One just has to wonder what TT would mean for Tebow at that level of baseball.
xalz
And I ain’t just taking the piss, but Tebow would need a miracle to play pro ball and make any kind of impact on the record books. The ATL needs at least three players that are franchise caliber names in a storied franchise to move back into prominence and TT would be pissing in the wind.
NL_East_Rivalry
The Braves signing of Tebow, if it occurs, would be to regain Gainesville back from the Rays and turn it into Braves territory again. Braved have no intention of bringing Tebow to the majors and he is in no way tied to their retooling.
