The Brewers have returned Rule 5 pick Zack Jones to the Twins, who have assigned him to Double-A Chattanooga, reports Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com (Twitter link). The Twins only had to pay the Brewers half the $50K Rule 5 fee to reacquire Jones, tweets Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press. Jones joins infielder Colin Walsh as the second Rule 5 pick the Brewers have jettisoned this month.
Jones, a 25-year-old right-hander, has been working his way back from a shoulder injury and hasn’t pitched in the majors this season (or ever), instead logging a combined 4 1/3 innings at two minor league levels. In 134 2/3 career frames in the minors, the 2012 fourth-round pick has posted a 3.07 ERA, 12.7 K/9 and 5.3 BB/9.

And who’s left?
Joe Biagini-Toronto
Matt Bowman-Cards
Luis Perdomo-Padres
Joey Rickard-Orioles
Tyler Goeddel-Phillies
Daniel Stumpf-Phillies, but serving a suspension for Peds.
Did I miss anyone?
Perdomo isn’t doing very well, but all the others have made significant contributions to their teams.

I find it odd how a team as bad as the Reds could not find a reason to keep Cave around, I guess they are still trying to convince themselves Hamilton and Schebler are big league players. Admittedly Hamilton has been better but hes still awful.

How is Hamilton not a big league player?
Niekro
He’s not good at baseball
Niekro
He doesn’t really offer any thing that guys like Cave,Heathcott and Castillo don’t offer, 2/3 have been DFA’d and one was a rule 5 pick not exactly outstanding company, Cave and Heathcott were never given 3 years to fail at the MLB level though so not quite fair.

Neither of them are as fast or anywhere near as good defensively.

Perdomo isn’t doing well. But to be fair, he has never pitched above A ball before this year. He has been thrown into about ever position a pitcher could be in. And the first couple of games he pitched really drove his ERA up. His last two spot starts have been very encouraging. As long as this year doesn’t ruin his confidence, the Padres can put him in the minors next year so he can get more experience. I have confidence that he will be successful in years to come.

Perdomo has gotten better as the season has gone on. His last start he looked like a major league pitcher. He still has a ways to go but for now he is processing. Plus he is pitching better recently than the guy (Shields) he replaced in the rotation.

Rickard hurts the Orioles more then he helps
marv152
how’s that? plays great d and fast on the base path?
BoldyMinnesota
His defense is not great, his only real value is running
marv152
how many errors does he have?
