DH, PED history, not a first ballot Hall of Famer.

If at all

This is the one comment that you’ve made that I will agree wholeheartedly with so far…as a Dodgers fan it’s been fun to watch Big Papi do his thing and he is a total professional and a class act…here’s to going out in style big fella, thanks for all you’ve brought to the game!
MB923
A total prfessional and class act? That’s hilarious. Here’s just 2 of many I can put
youtu.be/3eoro-V97l0
youtu.be/yZI5z97cRIU
dorfmac
You should see the way he treats dugout phones – totally classy.
bigpapijuicer
Total professional and class act????? HAHAHA
I guarantee you’re a Red Sox fan.
mcdusty31
If you knew how to read you would’ve read that I’m actually a Dodgers fan that appreciates what Big Papi brought to the game…and who cares if he tore up a dugout phone, sounds like you never played baseball and understand the frustration that comes when you’re having a rough patch
bigpapijuicer
Obviously I know how to read considering I read the part about “total pro and class act”. Idiot.
Anyone who smashes a dugout phone because of a strikeout has serious issues. Especially when you’re a pro athlete, and thousands of kids look up to you. Anyone who defends it has equally serious issues.
mcdusty31
I’m sure that there are plenty of players in the hall of fame that have done something destructive out of frustration during or after a baseball game…like I said, you strike me as someone who didn’t play baseball or someone who got a lot of participation trophies growing up

That blogger from scoutables must be just a kid.. How in the world can he list submarine pitchers and leave out Kent Tekulve? The greatest of them all?
Pirates wouldn’t have won without him throughout the 70’s and early 80’s without him coming in and nailing down all those games.. If anyone ever looked like “Lerch” from Adam’s family to play the game?? It was Teke!

Best DH ever!!! Da hall is waiting on yaa big papi! Go jays!

Okay, it’s officially not subtle anymore.
Hey mods, this guy should be banned. He is a troll. A non-typical troll, but a troll nonetheless. Regardless of whether or not the opinions he expresses are genuine, the way he expresses them is clearly intended not to foster discussion, but to get a rise out of people. That is the definition of trolling.
I am aware that the current moderation rules do not call for post deletion/account banning based on the content of his posts, but I ask you to read between the lines here. Good trolls don’t break the rules; they work within the confines of the rules to wreak havoc without officially doing anything ban-worthy. I’ve seen it happen countless times on other comment sections/message boards, and it’s exactly what bigpapi4ever is doing. He’s a good troll, but it’s become obvious what he’s doing, never more so than in this hyperbolic post. He’s being like the a kid’s abusive sibling who puts on a phony innocent act when the parents come home.
Don’t let him do it. Be proactive against trolls. Modify your moderation policy to have a general ban-rule against trolls, and don’t let the “phony nice” ones like bigpapi4ever game the system. Don’t be fooled. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and his only intention here is to piss people off.
start_wearing_purple
Have you considered the radical approach of IGNORING him? Trolls thrive on attention.
dan-9
Yes, I’ve also considered the radical approach that he should be banned. Trolls thrive even more on not being banned. We’re allowed to do both, smart guy.
start_wearing_purple
Why bother screaming at the sky or in this case screaming to the forum. If you have an issue, send a message to the admins. What you and others like you are doing is more about drawing attention to yourself in showing how self righteous you can get. On top of that you’re feeding the someone who is addicted to attention their drug of choice.
So I implore you and everyone else. Ignore the trolls. If it’s annoying you that much, tell the admins, point out that the mlbtr community as a whole would be happier getting back to the business of discussing baseball.
bigpapijuicer
Says the guy who responds to someone every time they respond to bigpapi4ever.
start_wearing_purple
Including this post, this is my 4th comment on the whole issue.
anewbie
Jesus man relax! I have been a reader on here for years and this guy isn’t causing “havoc” as you say.
Simple keep on reading and enjoying the sport! No need to get sensitive about a poster online… There are more important things in life.
kingfelix34
He finds a way to make every post about “his sox”
mwk89
any everyone who incessanty and relentlessly mocks and trolls right back should also be banned. all part of the genuine problem
TedWilliamsOnIceIceBaby
We will cleanse this forum of everyone and build it up anew with only the purest of fans. The true teams will rise from the ashes of the impure. Teams like the Long Island Ducks or the Bridgeport Blue Fish.
gomerhodge71
People like that usually use the YouTube game plan and re-register under another user name. Then they’re even worse.
No Soup For Yu!
After reading this comment I am convinced that bigpapi4ever has a shrine devoted to Ortiz in his room or something.
Atlfan
Guys, if you hadn’t noticed, papi is simply making a comment and watching the ensuing chaos. Let him comment, ignore it and move one. If you want to get to him, make him a nonissue and don’t respond to him. It’s the same pattern on comment he makes.
bigpapisucks4life
He will never get in due to his PED use. Without PED’s his career would have been over back in 2003.
@kylerobizzle
I love bigpapi4ever. He’s like the younger sibling that knows how to get a rise out of the older ones. It’s hilarious.
MB923
Zero chance he gets first ballot
jmancaPHI
“Dan” you seem to be a bit too angry over a comments section on a news site

*Rumor site
mike156
Leave the Ortiz-idolator to his uncritical worship. As for his incessant criticism of everything not BoSox, he’s just baiting us. And doing a very good job of it.
baseballrat
I think they should ban everyone that post about banning bigpapi4ever. Some of you people this stuff WAY Tooo serious. Hell… I’d rather see that “know it alls” who post multiple times daily on EVERY subject, get banned b4 bigpapi4ever gets banned. IMHO
surveillance12
Ortiz, in the HOF,No way he belongs. Being a DH does Not quality him for the Honor.
If he had been an everyday defensive player like Derek Jeter, or any other player then yes on the HOF. Sitting in the dugout eating seeds and being a DH, No! Doesn’t matter how many homes he has hit, or going to hit, No!
bigpapijuicer
LOL
HammySosa
I think my Phillies should look into trading for Papi. They need a strong veteran voice in the clubhouse and the likes of maikel Franco and Crawford could get the deal done?
mcdusty31
Bigpapi4ever is the total definition of a homer but who cares? It’s a baseball rumor site where we as fans get to throw in our two cents…if you don’t like it ignore it…by the way if you’re even saying that Big Papi doesn’t deserve to be a first ballot hall of famer you’re what is wrong with baseball “fans” these days
mike156
I’m with you until your last sentence. Ortiz may well get to the HOF, but he’s not an obvious first ballot selection. He’s 154 in Offensive WAR, 184th in Position Player WAR, and abut 282 among all players. Maybe you don’t like WAR, but he’s not an inner circle player, and that’s without the PED possibilities. And taking Ortiz and passing over players like Schilling and Mussina, Edgar, Larry Walker, is iffy at best. I don’t think taking that position makes me a “wrong” type of baseball fan–just a realist.
jd396
Thanks everybody, I definitely come here so I can read people flooding every thread with posts whining about bigpapi4ever.
