Yes, I know how wonderfully talented Cespedes is. All I’m saying is that whoever ends up signing him will wish they could go back and undo it. And Heyward for 200 million? Are you serious? He’s a nice player, a terrific outfielder. But no way in the world his offense earns that amount. He seems basically like a younger version of Brett Gardner. I get that he’s young. But a $25 mil player? You can have him.

For Davis, with no obvious fits among the traditional big market teams, I can see him topping out at 120M. Seattle, which is a team too heavily invested to go the complete rebuild route probably makes the most sense. Followed by Houston, I expect Pittsburgh to entertain the idea but pass when it comes time to exchange numbers. I can also see Colorado being a wild card in FA, just because Momfort is completely unpredictable.
