I’m sorry, but it really is not a mystery trying to build an offense at Safeco. 2001 is where you start and end. It isn’t rocket science. You need guys who can hit for average more so than just power, and Austin Jackson, Logan Morrison, Mark Trumbo (Even though I think he could be a better bridge between now and DJ Peterson’s call up) Dustin Ackley, and to a lesser extent, Brad Miller, are not the answers. I may be overthinking it here, but I also believe it has to do with the GM. JZ has made horrible draft choices (Especially overlooking Mike Trout) and killed the bullpen. It starts, in my opinion, with letting Jack go, then molding a team around Cano, Cruz, and Seager before the playoff opportunity slips away in a few years.
