Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. says that his club is set to reach another deal before the deadline, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports on Twitter. It is not presently known what Philadelphia player is involved, but outfielder Ben Revere has seen his name mentioned heavily today.

Maybe he should get back to making that deal than telling the media that he’s going to make a deal. Get your priorities straight here Ruben. And I’m not even a Phillies fan

He has no say, in any Phillies deals. He is a gm in title only. Don’t you get it?
He is out the door as soon as the final game is played in 2015

Heard it was Revere to Blue Jays.

how about 2 deals- Revere and Harang.
Matt St.
I think Harang will go in August along Ruiz.

It’s kind of funny that Amaro is still fooling the public , to believe he actually has something to do with these moves.
I would bet anything, he cannot name all the players the Phillies got back for Hamels, since he had nothing to do with that deal.
What a buffoon!

yes, hearing him on the radio the other night was hard to take..
then a caller was yelling at him comparing hamels to carlton, and imploring him not to trade Cole. i thought for a moment Rube would slip and admit he didnt want to trade Hamels, but they werent listening to him anymore.

Jays out on Revere, Orioles still a possibility. A Ryan Howard and Revere to BAL for Mychal Givens or a Mike Wright/Tyler Wilson would be interesting, but PHI would have to eat a LOT of payroll.

He also needs to investigate the Padres looking to dump Gyorko’s contract. That’s an opportunity to obtain a player that might have a little upside, and maybe get a prospect too.
And all it would cost is the cash, and a lower level prospect (or Dom Brown).
Phils have money… time to start buying some prospects!
raef715
yep, they need to be in full sam hinkie mode- and Gyorko would actually have some pop at second base unlike hernandez.

It would have to be a pretty darn good prospect to take on Gyorko’s minimum of $33 million owed from 2016-2019. Atlanta got Touki for Arroyo’s $14 mil owed.
raef715
teams arent lining up to make a run at Jerome williams?

i think andy mcphail are more behind these trades than amaro is pretending to be.
