Introducing The MLBTR Newsletter

By Tim Dierkes | May 5, 2015 at 2:33pm CDT

The new MLBTR Newsletter delivers an exclusive weekly article to your inbox every week!  I’ll be weighing in on deals, rumors, and all the hot stove-related topics MLBTR has been known for since I launched the site a decade ago.  These articles will be exclusive to MLBTR Newsletter subscribers and will not appear on the website.  I may also provide occasional updates on what’s next for MLBTR.

I’ll be honored if you give us your email address.  We will never sell your email address or market anything to the mailing list.  My first post, coming Wednesday, is titled, “Should The Brewers Trade Carlos Gomez?”  Sign up now!  Those of you viewing this post in our app can use this link.

Get the weekly article from Tim!

All you have to do is sign up, click the link in the confirmation email, and wait for the first email to roll in Wednesday!

The big giant button wasn’t showing up for me on the desktop site. I see it here on the mobile site.

I’d love to subscribe but since your signup form doesn’t work for those of us who are visually impaired…

I’ll try it, I suspect that it’ll take you to the same sort of sign up form. I’ll see what happens & get back.

It’s not a you issue per say. No, that didn’t work… I see that you’re using mailChimp it is an issue with their sign up form. Those of us in the accessibility world have tried for years to get them to do a better job with their accessibility. It is what it is… Thanks sir.

Gimmicky. Keep the material on the site. Can’t speak for others, but I don’t need yet another thing in my inbox.

I’m aiming for this to be a bit of a different experience…subscribers can reply to me personally and submit ideas for future newsletters and the website in general. Also, some of our original posts can get buried by news and notes stories. But to each his own, of course! It doesn’t have any effect on MLBTR, which is always improving.

No problem, kudos for trying something new. Just keep posting the content here, even if you prevent comments to encourage the different format. Just don’t fence content.

Sorry that this is not related @mlbtrdisadmin:disqus , but is there a way to view and post comments from the app (I have the Android app) in addition to posting and viewing comments from the web?

We’re working on it. It will be a few months. Sorry about that.

I entered my e-mail address, hit subscribe and it did nothing. I’m assuming I am good, but if there’s a way to put “you are now subscribed” or something, it would probably save you the headache of having the same person doing it multiple times.

That is odd. There is supposed to be a message about the confirmation email being sent.

I haven’t quite decided. But possibly…I imagine consistency would be preferred.
