- Outfielder Jeremy Hermida, who was released by the Brewers yesterday to pursue an opportunity with an Asian club, has signed a $500K contract with Japan’s Nippon Ham Fighters, according to the Associated Press. The former Marlin hit .256/.370/.456 with the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate last season. Hermida’s bat fell off sharply after hitting .267/.345/.432 from 2007-09 with the Marlins, and he hasn’t appeared in the Majors since 2012.
